Was just coming on to post the same. On what basis I’d like to know?

she thought he needed a job? Cushy International job representing his country which he had been trained for. Apparently he wanted nice places not 3rd world hell holes.
Anyway Mummy got him a job but no one was going to interview him were they?

Ukisgaslit · 21/05/2026 15:20

@bluegreygreen

I suggest you double check. There are many types of trust but all involve tax payments ( apart from a discretionary trust set up for a disabled beneficiary) .

The trusts which many estates use involve giving up ownership and creating a business shell . They are all still subject to tax and tax law. They may not pay inheritance tax on death because they have set up a trust in advance and are paying tax at intervals .

For the umpteenth time , only William and Charles are above the law on inheritance tax and corporation tax and capital gains tax too! None of these taxes are paid by the Duchies despite being massive capitalist corporations .

Any tax they do decide to pay is not scrutinised - they themselves decide what they declare and what they won’t .

They say they do not own the duchies so will not pay those taxes. When it comes to revealing their books , they say they it is private .
It is a rip off and needs to be stopped

Ukisgaslit · 21/05/2026 15:31

BTW bluegreygreen , I saw you note that William and Charles’ tax position is contradictory. Something we agree on . They’ve been contradicting themselves and fudging their position forever . Private when it suits them , public when it suits them

And even the income tax they proffer is only if they decide to. They are above the law re income tax too . The figures we see for William are journalistic supposition . We have no idea . William closed the books . A backward step from Charles’ position .

I suppose the clue is HMRC. His Majesty's Revenue. I can imagine the Director taking the call for The King. Now Trump has decided his tax affairs are invisible. Perhaps he and Charles discussed taxes

Thank you for the links, bluegreygreen.

I think they confirm what many have suspected i.e. that E2 was desperate to relieve herself of the Andrew problem find her useless favourite son some kind of role and that she was pulling all kinds of strings behind closed doors.

They also undermine the much touted efficacy of 'soft power' and royals submissively going where they're told when we see that York 'likes travelling' but only apparently to technically sophisticated countries and was clearly pandered to. Why wasn't part of the role doing harder yards in developing areas?

Keeping golf out of it went by the board pretty quickly given MW was soon regularly scheduling his tax payer funded trips around access to top courses
( and sexual excess if we're to believe Lownie - FTR I do)

Once installed and all apparently on Mummy's gavel nod, who if anyone was responsible for keeping tabs on the clown and why did TPTB allow his egregious abuse of position to continue in the face of repeated and damning publicly reported revelations?

E2 posthumously on the hook again.

Pedallleur · 21/05/2026 21:53

Who was going to rein him in? Do you know who I am? will have been his motto. Any minder/aide de camp/civil servant who reported anything would have been told to keep quiet/Secrets Act etc.

Thanks for the article.

If AMW thinks this is going away, he can think again. Thames Valley Police cannot brush this under the carpet.

Interesting to read that they found significant evidence at royal lodge. Seeing it all summarised in that article, it really is awful and how it was allowed to go on like this without any questions I just do not know

I agree @simpsonthecat . I know that many people thought AMW would get away with it but I have always believed that more will come out and - hopefully- we will see him in jail .
I just hope that victims are supported to come forward .

It's a very naive view of mine but I am wondering if QE2 pushed for the TE role for favourite son as a way of keeping him out of trouble? Who knows what he was up to before he started flitting around the world.

The podcast lays the blame at quite a few government departments & not just the Queen. And why wasn’t he answerable. Also made the point, that the Duke of Kent, had done a sterling job and AMW has almost tarnished his role, which I find quite sad.

Yes, @Recklessismymiddlename, the Duke of Kent had been successful in the role for 25 years.

Maybe, but that shows an astonishing level of naiveté on her part. Flitting around the world would've only increased his opportunity for bad behaviour, and bad behaviour that was perhaps easier to cover up if it was done overseas.

I don't think 'almost' covers it.!

He flitted all over the world taking back handers and doing dodgy deals to enrich himself. He upset diplomats and governments. He tacked on golf trips to the most prestigious golf clubs on each trip. He took very dodgy people with him on these trips. Like David Stern a close associate of Epstein, and David Rowland repeatedly. The banker and close friend of Andrew used these government trade envoy trips to shoehorn in his own business and make deals totally unrelated to what Andrew should have been doing. AMW spent a lot of time with authoritarian figures and controversial businessman like Gaddafi's son.
(Interestingly, Saif Gaddafi was killed by four gunmen breaking into his compound just a couple of months ago.). AMW mixed with the best people didn't he...🙄😮

If this isn't misconduct in public office, I do not know what is

Well...the Duke of Kent has a moral compass, something completely lacking in AMW

Recklessismymiddlename · Yesterday 08:39

Well of course it was!!! And why didn’t anyone stop him???? I don’t believe it was just because he was the DofY. I think there must have been others involved. PM can’t be the only one.

Sky News report (not an archive link)

Sky News

Interestingly, they point out that the police are still waiting for the unredacted Epstein files.

Puzzledandpissedoff · Yesterday 09:57

Honestly not sure how the latest from the police changes anything?

They've got to make it look as if they're "doing something", but AMW's never going to enter a witness box, so I guess its main use is the useful reminder of just how complicit much of the RF are

Lalgarh · Yesterday 10:04

The updated version of Andrew Lownies book Entitled came out yesterday

Recklessismymiddlename · Yesterday 10:11

It won’t be just the Queen though will it. Government departments will also have known. As they represent me and are elected by me I also would like to know what they (if anything), may well have known. I’ll reiterate, I don’t think PM is the only one involved.

simpsonthecat · Yesterday 10:14

Is PM Mandelson?
