I think the York daughters are being blamed for their own behaviour as adults.

The children getting blamed for the parents' misdemeanours. Should we expect the same for Harry's children then too in due course?

I suppose if they start up grifty charities or not

Princess Eugenie's charity faces further scrutiny from Charity Commission

(This has been posted on other royal family board threads also, NB)

Thank you for the link.

Encouraging to see the CC opening an investigation into this organisation (close to £300k spent on the glitzy but six years in the making inaugural bash IIRC) but less encouraging to note they've found nothing to see when investigating other disappearing royal charitable funds.

Sad to say my spideys aren't tingling.

This isn't the gotcha you think it is. If they end up grifting their way around the Middle East as adults, then they'll be judged for that. Not for anything their parents did.

Really, the attempts to shoehorn Harold into everything are getting tedious.

Last I heard Lili and Archie weren't pratting around in the Middle East capitalising on their father's previous contacts!

Is it possible they got their entitlement from their parents though?

HoldMyWine · 14/05/2026 04:39

They are in their 30s fgs

This is two little children you are talking about, why don't you leave them alone?

I agree, I think Beatrice is well on her way to 40. They have husbands and families of their own but they are forever infantalised in Mumsnet, it's very odd. They are quite capable of making good and right decisions

Probably the same people who refer to H and M as a young couple . It’s a way of excusing bad behaviour.

simpsonthecat · 14/05/2026 10:07

I've never thought of them as a young couple, they're over 40 aren't they?

Decacaffeinatednow · 14/05/2026 10:10

Both in early 40s @simpsonthecat - well into middle age. Same as the Wales and Yorks, Tindalls et al. There is a long gap to the next generation really.
Mind you Hello Magazine isn't holding back on Charlotte in this week's edition - front page spread and multi page article inside.

Mylovelygreendress · 14/05/2026 10:11

Lots of posters have referred to them as a young couple .

Decacaffeinatednow · 14/05/2026 10:13

Wonder when there will be any update on the investigation into the Crown Estate and its handling of rents etc.

Decacaffeinatednow · 14/05/2026 10:43

I've just seen Kate referred to as relatively young - at 44.

How nauseating and intrusive is that

Lots of posters referring to Beatrice & Eugenie as 'the girls' or whatever. And how in their twenties and now thirties they don't appear to have a mind of their own and even now, everything they do is because of the parents they had!
.
Yes I wouldn't mind the investigation into the Crown Estates or will it be another whitewash or shoved under the carpet like always

I guess it depends on the context - "relatively young" to have been diagnosed with cancer, yes, "relatively young" to have 3 young children, no.

But if we're talking about B&E and their dodgy dealings, then no, they are not so young that they wouldn't have realised what they were doing was off!

Decacaffeinatednow · 14/05/2026 12:44

I guess it depends on the context - it was a thread discussing how perfect her skin is and posters were wondering what she does.

AnnunciataM · 14/05/2026 13:41

Ah I just saw that thread. Plenty of women that age still have good skin so I can kind of see the point of that comment. Some posters on Mumsnet talk as if women become decrepit old crones after the age of 35 and express surprise at anyone who hasn't! Kate isn't really an outlier.

Anyway, this is digressing from the topic of the thread so I'll say no more!

I think this is a very valid point. Andrew and Fergie have acted like entitled twats so it's hardly surprising. They have been brought up in that environment. Parents - crikey 🙄
