This is the third thread discussing the case Prince Harry (and 6 others) are bringing against the Daily Mail (Associated Newspapers) for alleged unlawful information gathering (UIG).

Thread 1

Thread 2

Since the celebrities have given evidence, there has been limited direct reporting from court; what there is has mostly been on this link
Sky News link to court case

Third, already!

Thanks for the new thread.

MrsLeonFarrell · 19/02/2026 14:51

Thanks for the thread. This is a fascinating case and I'm learning quite a lot about how court actually works.

Lunde · 19/02/2026 15:09

@bluegreygreen

I don't think there is a MN thread about Marius the Norwegian halv-blood Prince but some of the stuff is truly gobsmacking

  • him prowling for women after taking combinations of alcohol, cocaine, Ketamine, and other drugs
  • having sex/fingering them when they were motionless/asleep
  • filming himself having sex with motionless women
  • filming their genitals
  • saving the films to an encrypted app to use as porn
  • breaching restraining orders

.... and this is the stuff he admits to

Edited to add I am following the trial on aftenposten.no - if you right click it translates to English although sometimes it's a bit clunky

Seriously! , god it’s never ending, still hopefully this will put an end to the Norwegian royals being held up as an example we should follow.

Thank you for new thread x
I think my brain has reached saturation overload, for me a few days rest may be a good thing.

NewAgeNewMe · 19/02/2026 15:20

Oh God Lunde that’s absolutely awful.

Lifestooshort71 · 19/02/2026 15:29

Thank you for the new thread!

bluegreygreen · 19/02/2026 16:28

Thanks @Lunde - I think I may skip that.
I'm enjoying following the legal process here, but that sounds a bit too similar to the Epstein stuff (which this is a break from).

Quick name change as this may out me to friends, but popped into the RCJ recently and sat in on the case. David Sherbrooke KC was extremely impressive. It’s so worth sitting in on if you are close enough - great to see what it’s really like in court close up. Court staff were brilliantly helpful.

bluegreygreen · 19/02/2026 16:48

Welcome @DaftCarInsurance

What day did you sit in for?

In what way impressive?

Court staff have always been lovely any time I've needed to go with work.

Thanks, @bluegreygreen - placemarking for more court reporting

BemusedAmerican · 19/02/2026 17:14

He must be more impressive in person that he appears in the news coverage.

Telegraph usually drops around 8pm, but who know if Victoria Ward has been pulled away today.

RecoIIectionsMayVary · 19/02/2026 18:01

Thanks for the thread.

Whilst I'm not a big fan of trigger warnings, the half blood stuff was a bit of a shock on a thread about UIG, it needs it's own.

I don't agree about policing threads . I think it is perfectly reasonable to have threads that stay mainly on subject, I don't talk about cats in the doghouse, yet they are both pets.

PrayForMyBum · 19/02/2026 18:26

Placemarking - thanks for the new thread! And @DaftCarInsurance do tell more!

DaftCarInsurance · 19/02/2026 18:39

it was the day the former DM Head of Legal was witness. She came across as quite slippery - couldn’t remember much about anything. I think DS was trying to get a piece of evidence onto court record, though it had been ruled inadmissible so he was trying to bring it in via a different line of questioning. (It was a memo by the pressure group - name escapes me). The judge did call him out on that, at which point the defence barrister jumped up and tried to get it struck from the record. But the defence chap was so blustering , whereas Sherbrooke was extremely calm and polite, and clearly so well prepared. Was able to jump between all the different spreadsheets and memos quickly and easily. Felt like he was running rings around daily mail woman and defence barrister had nothing to say. Sadly we didn’t stay long as my companion had no patience ! So we didn’t see any big breakthroughs or revelations, but it’s amazing how you can literally just go in and observe.
