Not listened to the first in Meghan's podcast series, a conversation with the founder of Bumble, Whitney Wolfe Heard, but the Mail has collated all the press reviews so far, with links. The Guardian, Telegraph and i-Paper are unanimous: the podcast is cloyingly dreadful.

The reviews for Meghan Markle's latest podcast are in! Two stars for Confessions of a Female Founder https://mol.im/a/14584193 via https://dailym.ai/android

I remember reading about William was his work surrounding mental health in rural communities. He is very vocal in advocating for mental health, rural communities

In February and March William made a couple of visits to the east of Scotland to talk to farmers and particularly young farmers about the stresses of their jobs and the isolation, and launch initiatives to do with homelessness.
He is certainly involved and it's clearly a long-term project for him.

glitterturd · 10/04/2025 20:46

Unless you carry a posse of photographers or a Netflix crew it doesn't exist to some dullards.

ScarlettOYara · 10/04/2025 20:53

It's very clear that William is not seeking a celebrity lifestyle, but seems to be working on fulfilling and long term projects..

Bless him. Farmers’ mental health is a big issue.

ScarlettOYara · 10/04/2025 20:57

He was also talking to a group of farmers in Norfolk, because it was on the local news.

Exactly. These visits were very low key. It was reported that he was coming but not exactly when so there were no crowds out to greet him.

That would mean he’s very unpopular according to a few posters.🙄

smilesy · 10/04/2025 21:54

I have said on another thread that I have it on good authority that the Princess of Wales is representing the Sovereign at tomorrow’s commissioning parade at Sandhurst. The colour party will also be the first ever all female colour party. But that probably won’t make the news. Nevertheless it will happen

ScarlettOYara · 10/04/2025 22:36

The news will be Harry in Ukraine.
He has no idea about how delicate this all is, and the pressure in Europe.
What a fool.

LipglossAlly · 11/04/2025 07:35

Lovely ☺️, a new thread featuring the latest charity endeavours of the R F should be created. You see?Having the RF as mere focus of a thread is not that hard, and as suggested previously, since H&M no longer represent the RF, there is no need for their threads to be under the RF section when they could directly show under active on Mumsnet thus attracting the comments of those who actually wish to discuss the specific topic of the thread.

ScarlettOYara · 11/04/2025 07:40

They're royalty, aren't they, though @LipglossAlly . I'm certain that's how they identify and market themselves. I think this is the correct section.

MrsFinkelstein · 11/04/2025 10:03

@LipglossAlly sounds good. H&M should definitely stop using their BRF titles (including Royal Crests and Coats of Arms) in all of their independent financial endeavours, because every time they do they publicly link themselves to the BRF. They should probably also renounce titles for their children.

BemusedAmerican · 11/04/2025 10:09

Harry just went to court because he views himself as royal. He also went to Ukraine for the same reason. I think this is the right pace to discuss him.

NewAgeNewMe · 11/04/2025 10:24

Exactly @BemusedAmerican

LipglossAlly · 11/04/2025 11:14

Irrespective of what people think, there is no reason for a thread on a podcast on female founders to only feature in the Royal section.

Especially, when it comes to Meghan, her content and business ventures are a separate thing from her previous Royal life, and it is only fair that similar threads are not relegated into this side of Mumsnet, but open to everyone to see and comment.

Many of the posts have nothing to o add when it comes to discussing the actual subject of the thread, so at this point moving these types of threads into the general boards makes more sense.

They are not separate whilst she is using her royal title to publicise them. Her Instagram is Meghan Duchess of Sussex at the top.

I think the continued use of titles is harming her business and I wish she would have the confidence to go it alone in her ventures as Meghan Markle. That's the ISP that works for her.

She's nothing without the title though.

I don't know. She built The Tig without a title and she could do something again without the title which is dragging her down.

She did build the Tig without a title. Very true, although I hadn't heard of it, nor her.
Meghan is now royalty. That's how she styles herself and how she lives. That's her right. She's using it as a way to keep in the headlines and make money? Good luck to her. It's better than selling gossip about the the RF for money.

I don't think she is royalty, she is a member of the royal family which is different. Royalty is a member of the royal family who carries out duties on behalf of the monarch, Meghan doesn't do that.

Leaving aside the thorny issue of using her title for commercial gain which they were specifically told not to do, I think she just brings a whole heap of negative press down on herself when she does this. It is making things harder for her. I wish she'd just pick the celebrity lane and drop the titles. It would open up far more things to her and she would free of the weight of criticism and expectation that comes with using titles deriving from a monarchy for commercial gain.

ScarlettOYara · 11/04/2025 15:09

You're right, @MrsLeonFarrell , she's spent years trying to become a celebrity, and I agree that it would be better just to focus on that. However, both her and Harry really do appear to place a high value on their titles and the trappings eg a crown on Meghan's personal notepaper, her royal coat of arms on the website etc.
I think it's given her such wealth, status and fame it would be very difficult to relinquish.
The children are Prince and Princess too of course.

Harry is at his best with children and veterans. However, at a time of such tension and with an unpredictable US president, I can't imagine that Harry's unannounced visit is anything but concerning for the FCDO and the courtiers. It's just this kind of behaviour from Harry that helps me understand why his family have cut him off. He is a risk, not only to the privacy of family members, but, with this latest move, potentially to the British state.

Even if it's well intentioned, things are at a delicate stage. He really needed FCO, NATO and EU approval or at least acknowledgement. It just seems so naive and silly.
