From observing Kate & Pippa, Rose & her sister Marina & lots of other women (& men) who married aristos it seems attending top private schools seems to be a prerequisite. Eg Kate & Pippa went to Marlborough, Rose & Marina Stowe..
Does it happen oftern that an average girl who went to a normal comp from a 2 bed terrace marries into landed gentry?

Didn't she go to a private school? She was also a well known actress if you followed the series she was in - which apparently the prince did.

If you are British it probably helps if that's what you want - i.e. to marry an aristocrat. A lot of the mums around me are very particular about who they want their children to socialise with. It's all about networking and wanting to be seen with the "right families". Ultimately it's who you know.

Meghan went to a top Catholic private school & Northwestern university which is also prestigious. Meghan had an excellent education.

Northwestern really isn't that prestigious at all...and Stowe is one of the lowest performing private schools. It's just posh. It is definitely known for somewhat thick kids who won't ever need to earn a living.

Not at all! But basically a woman or man won't be accepted into the closed circle if they don't have the "right" background.

private canadian and american schools (especially parochial ones) are nothing near the uk equivalent.
do not be misled into thinking the school megan attended was nothing more than a basic religious based school.
i do think a good university education however would make up for not attending the right high school.
but ultimately part of the equation is it's family money and teaching the young how that money needs to be protected (which starts early on).

It's highly ranked no.47 in the world, right below LSE and way above St Andrews and even some Ivy Leagues. Not sure what passes as prestigious to other people but it's definitely not a Z list university.
