Think I’m just thrown by Rupert Everett claiming he knows how/when Harry really lost his virginity suggesting this is yet another variation on the “truth”. So maybe he needs it corroborating otherwise yet another departure from the truth?
Who knows?!

I get what you’re saying. I’m not keen on Rupert Everett. I used to think he was gorgeous when I was young. He has said mean things about a lot of people so I take his comments with a pinch of salt. eg www.huffpost.com/entry/rupert-everett-trashes-cl_n_76977. I know this example was from 2007 but he hasn’t said much for years.

Maybe you're just used to being shagged and ghosted so it's not a big deal to you?

Surely ghosting would have been if she was trying to contact him and he was ignoring her? Sounds potentially like both were a bit embarrassed by what they’d done and their friendship mutually fizzled out, which I can imagine, given their ages at the time.

Obviously he was incredibly irresponsible about pregnancy, but the age of “chivalry” where the “man” (or boy, in this case) is somehow responsible for checking up that the “lady” was okay in the aftermath of such an event, is long gone.

And I bet royal courtiers have long been used to clearing up the kind of messes that spoiled and irresponsible princes have made. They were just very lucky that, in this case, they didn’t have to.

Harry is as ungentlemanly and caddish as it gets. Terrible manners despite his background.
This lady behaved with much more decorum and do not blame her in the slightest for giving her side of the story, she didn't ask to be in in the first place, nor was warned or consultet assume.
Bet she had the press on her back already.
What fascinates me is , men ( and women ) usually have a similar type they go for. Looks and background.
This lady fits in totally with Cressida, Chelsy et al.
His much OLDER wife does not.

I don’t actually disagree with you here. Whilst I think Harry is a nob, I think the age difference between a 16 yo boy and 19 yo young woman is quite large and he probably felt she was much older than him at the time.

I know that if I’d have shagged a 16 yo when I was 19, my mates would have (good naturedly) ripped the piss out of me for shagging a ‘child’.

However, age gaps close, and he would have been better off to say ‘she was what felt like a much older woman at the time’, rather than describing her as ‘older’.

They should have learnt from the Oprah interview that words and insinuations matter.

The press blatantly got to her: if she was doing it totally out of her own will she’d have done it when the tabloids were running all the ‘who was it?’ Stories.

I hope she’s at least managed to have some control and made some money off the back of it but it does show what a selfish prat he was to bring her into it in the first place as there was an inevitability the press would be desperate to find her.

Also something tells me no one could tell Harry what he could or couldn't do even at 16 so if he wanted to stay in touch he would have found a way.

She says she was actually 18yo, it was the night before her birthday and he was about to turn 17yo. So a 2 year age difference which I don’t think it’s significant. He made the first move, it’s not like she groomed him. He was also the boss’s son so there was a power imbalance in his favour. He ghosted her. He’s also the one spilling the beans now and in a further article this morning she isn’t happy about that. She is very diplomatic but basically says he’s a hypocrite for banging on about privacy and press intrusion and then doing this, that enough people at the time knew about it so since the story broke she’s been waiting for the press to descend.

I think that when you’re in the public eye as much as he is, you’re bloody lucky if your teenage drunken one-night-stand-in-a-field is so loyal to you that for 20 years they don’t sell the story or tell it so widely that press find out. That someone who you’ve had no contact with since has never contacted you and asked for money or favours for old times sake, and has instead just lived their life.

Why on earth would you then out them by telling the story in your book?

When you are 16 a 19 year old is positively ancient. You are still at school and they are in the big wide world at uni or working, they are grown up and are legally allowed to all sorts of cool grown up shit. Not sure why this is such a big deal.

He's making such an arse ass of himself and of Megs. He was obviously a handful when he was younger on the pictures and how his behaviour is described, he sounds very obnoxious.

I think she comes across really well. It looks like the mail already had her WhatsApp conversation with a friend and would have published anyway - so she may as well make money out of it and put her side forward. I don’t reckon it will have been paying off mortgage money - but hopefully she’ll have a nice holiday.

Two years difference. He was able to buy rounds of shots in a pub and get drunk, he went out for a smoke. He was not a little boy.

Good for her - she made the point well that it was her story as much as his, and he failed to have the decency of letting her know before dropping the shot storm on her - this story suggests that she’s had tabloid hacks harassing her for weeks, she hasn’t voluntarily walked up to Derry Street with a story. There were clearly enough other people who knew that she was not going to be able to keep this quiet
