I have male friends whose absolute dream woman would be a voluptuous blonde digger-driver who likes going to the pub. Harry should have stuck with her. Bet he'd be having an actually fun life.

Absolutely, he should have married someone like her.
She comes across really well.

lifeinthehills · 04/02/2023 23:46

Not that I needed to know any of it but, since I do, I'm glad this is the actual situation rather than a young man being taken advantage of by a much older woman.

ImJustMadAboutSaffron · 04/02/2023 23:50

He looks like a nerdy kid on that picture. Imagine shagging him. Yuck.

youngmotherhubbard · 04/02/2023 23:52

"To tell the truth, he didn't make sure I was happy. He was young." [...] Sadly the encounter marked the end of Sasha's friendship with Harry. From being regular drinking partners, the pair never texted, spoke or saw each other again. [...] Sasha had been jilted a month or so earlier by her long-term boyfriend [...] Harry did not use a condom or discuss protection with her.

So, in short... The way I read this...

Young woman, only a couple of years older than a young man, is upset about breaking up with her first proper boyfriend. The man, a friend, invites her out for a smoke, unexpectedly makes a move, does a very quick pump and dump without any consideration for her satisfaction, and then never talks to her again. Never even checks whether she's pregnant with a view to supporting her through that choice!

The extract I read from the book suggested he was being taken advantage of by an older woman. The interview, however, suggests that he potentially took advantage of an upset female friend and then rather than see if she was OK, ghosted her. Puts a very different spin on the matter.

Recollections may vary, but on stuff like this, the woman is usually more accurate. She comes across much more credibly too.

I'm glad she's corrected the narrative.

JFC Did she not think of her two kids before outing herself ? Obvs money is more important. Harry looks about 14 in that car piccie !

Why shouldn’t she make money out of it?

If Harry hadn’t written it (and his 2 children will read it one day), it wouldn’t have come out. Plus, they have even more unsavoury details to have to get their head around apart from that.

Obvs money is more important!

He's one of those men who looks better with age, because age has given him a beard to hide his face.

Most men who can grow a proper beard look better with a beard. It covers up a multitude of sins.

biscuiteer · 04/02/2023 23:59

Imagine how she must have felt when that book came out. Fucking hell. Poor woman.
I think tabloid have found her and said we will out you and write about you or you can get paid for your exclusive.

Boulshired · 05/02/2023 00:06

if others knew I wouldn’t be surprised if this was the press offering her to do her account (and earn) or have it spread across the front pages from sources.

Northernsouloldies · 05/02/2023 00:15

A gentleman never tells scummy little bastard.

MarshaMelrose · 05/02/2023 00:15

You can see in her texts that others did know. She'll have told her friends at the time.
The cheek of telling the RF they need to apologise, he needs to do some apologising of his own.

AnneShirleysNewDress · 05/02/2023 00:21

Recollections may vary....

BadNomad · 05/02/2023 00:24

Well, she remembers him as being 16-years-old at the time. Just a kid. Not some predatory man taking advantage of a broken-hearted young woman. 🙄

StClare101 · 05/02/2023 00:31

Yes that’s true. But she also
points out he didn’t offer to use protection, didn’t take any care to see if she enjoyed herself and never spoke to her again.

I reckon the Palace have covered up a lot over the years.

Because 16yos can't be predatory?

He might not have been predatory but to sleep with a friend of two years and then ghost them is horrible behaviour.

Patineur · 05/02/2023 00:33

Harry's privacy concerns didn't extend to protecting this woman's privacy, then.

ShandaLear · 05/02/2023 00:37

Ahh, I was hoping it was Liz Hurley. Still, a shag’s a shag.

StClare101 · 05/02/2023 00:40

Rupert Everett was clearly talking out his arse though 😂

friendlycat · 05/02/2023 00:40

Once again Harry’s notion of facts don’t really marry up. Technically she is an older woman but 2 years or thereabouts doesn’t really equate to what most would classify as an older woman in the way he described it.

Would be interesting to know if he refers to his wife as an older woman. As usual there’s a degree of irony in this story but that’s just gone completely over his head. He really just isn’t very bright at all. He’s certainly not a gentleman that’s for sure.

Youwhatnowbiggles · 05/02/2023 00:43

Gosh, can’t believe she was so young compared to what was clearly insinuated - so many lies the little ‘pauper’ Prince tells. He really is a nasty toad, no number of girls kissing him will make a difference, he’s stuck as reptilian forever.

ArcaneWireless · 05/02/2023 00:59

He really does come across as quite the young gentleman…

Always about him with no concern about others by the sounds of it and nothing seems to have changed.

Whatever hole M has crawled into to escape the glare of his gobshitery, I hope she has a good supply of chocolate and fizz.

A 19-year-old adult has sex with a drunk, 16-year-old virgin and it's the child at fault? Um ok.

Also, he didn't ghost her. Neither of them made contact with each other. She moved on to a different sport and different group of friends. Like people do when they outgrow their younger friendship groups.

rubberduckiee · 05/02/2023 01:48

Goodness me. I've been partially sympathetic to Harry, but is every single stupid detail in the book manipulated to cast him in the light of victimhood?

The way Harry wrote about this (and he didn't even need to write about it!) was as if he was being exploited by a more powerful middle-aged woman for her own pleasure – not a drunken, consensual teen grope. Or was it just me who read it that way?

This especially casts such a different light on it: "To tell the truth, he didn't make sure I was happy. He was young. It's not until you are older you understand that stuff. It really was just a moment of passion."

rubberduckiee · 05/02/2023 01:51

Or on reflection, with all his obvious mummy / Oedipus issues, maybe the older woman thing was his fantasy perspective rather than tale of victimhood?

I thought it would be someone ten to fifteen years older, not a mate that was virtually his age.

I hope she's made some money out of this, because he has made money out of her.

I’m wondering what his descriptions regarding the woman were like? Did he say “old” or “older”. If it’s the former, it’s clearly not the case if the woman is only 40 years old which in context of his age, which according to Google is 38, is not that much of a difference. If he said older, technically the woman is 40 and that’s about two years older than him.

Incidentally, I also googled Kate, Meghan and William’s ages and William is now 40 Shock (I keep on imagining Harry and William as children for some reason). And Kate and Meghan are both 41.
