What next for Prince Harry & Meghan ?

I hope after the trauma & troubles of Harry that this is a new chapter and renaissance for him.

I can see Meghan and Harry hosting an annual ‘Met - style’ Gala/high brow event in Diana’s honour with a listers, red carpets and music performances. Donating the proceeds of the televised coverage to mental health research at a big Ivy League university or some other big cause & using the event and celebrity power to end the stigma

I can see Harry abs Meghan doing what they’ve done with Invictus - something really substantial that makes a huge difference.

I don’t truly know what exactly the Royal do and I read royal news - I know Kate does early years etc but not what they’re doing beyond promoting and visiting places.

I can see a Meghan & Harry really doing something global and substantial and hitting the ground running.

I see the royals getting stale with the new streamlined Royal not getting headlines. It’ll be tricky with no lesser royals to generate scandals and glamour, weddings and babies and leave the main players to look aloof, above being Human and immortal.

what do you predict for the next chapter of royals and Harry Meghan ?

The anger at these two is because they refuse to conform to the script you want them.

You keep saying they are ghosted by A listers, yet some friends, including Oprah, are specifically mentioned in the acknowledgements of Harry's book. do you know who they hang put with? How do you know?

You want them to be bitter, divorced, and to fail. Many of you predicted no one would buy Spare, that no-one would listen to Archetypes, that no one would watch Netflix.

You were wrong then, and will continue to be wrong. But I can see this is not a thread for reasonable discussion, so off to the Bookclub I go!

Megan has no political future in the US. The democrat party won't touch her with a 10 foot pole--the King is the head of state of one of the US' closest allies. The US will not risk her getting into an official position that might strain the US-UK alliance.

Coxspurplepippin · 12/01/2023 16:36

MrsMaxDeWinter I agree that their publications and Netflix/Oprah stuff have been successful from a revenue point of view. I just wonder how many copies of the book bought/watchers of Netflix and Oprah are down to:
Wanting the salacious goss
The support of the 'Sussexsquad' (who it would appear will buy anything connected to the Sussexes.)

It'll be interesting to see where they go once they're not cashing in on the RF.

IcedPurple · 12/01/2023 16:49

They are not coming back. That is a certain prediction.

Is it?

Is it really?

Fantastic news!

MrsMaxDeWinter · 12/01/2023 17:02

Really, really! Cross my heart and hope to die.

They are not coming back.

And given the hysteria over the last couple of months, here and elsewhere,I would say they would be wise not to. 😂

Sugarfree23 · 12/01/2023 17:15

@Coxspurplepippin you missed one out
There are the people who are following because it's far more interesting than EastEnders.

Sad but true, its like a great big soap opera, except there isn't a script writer who knows whats going to happen next.

I've got another thought on 'what happens next'
If Charles perceives that Meghan is the driving force behind all this, he gives Harry an ultimatum, it's Meghan or your title!
They as a pair cannot keep knocking the RF while using Royal Titles.

MrsDanversGlidesAgain · 12/01/2023 17:20

given that he went down well on John Colbert

Did he? dang, I missed that. Surprised the ratings weren't even higher if that was part of the interview.

Coxspurplepippin · 12/01/2023 17:20

'There are the people who are following because it's far more interesting than EastEnders.'

Yes, I need to add that to the list. I wonder what the whole shebang would have been like pre internet? No support websites, no twitter spats, no MN (the horror!). But then again the book etc probably wouldn't have been written because Harry wouldn't have seen Meghan wearing her dog ears on the gram.

Sugarfree23 · 12/01/2023 17:25

Pre-internet it would have been one Panaroma type interview on mainstream telly, everyone watching it and everyone talking about it.
More people bought papers so the tabloids would have had a field day.

Believe the dog filter stories, believe anything.
A royal is not exactly going to admit to anything incriminating.

GlassBunion · 12/01/2023 17:35

I think divorce will be on the cards.
They don't sound like a happy couple.

FanFckingTastic · 12/01/2023 18:20

What next for them? Well I predict that they will be the subject of lots of comedy / satire shows as well as funny memes for a while to come. I also predict that their names will become a by-word for whinging and / or telling of slightly dodgy 'truths'. In years to come you might find 'telling a Hazza' in the dictionary alongside 'telling a fib'

They definitely won’t be back as working royals. It’s an impossibility to have people with such loose and lying tongues at state events and on state tours dealing with sensitive confidential affairs of heads of states of other countries.

Love Andrew Cotter.

As for Harry. Meghan will be fine. Harry. I don’t know. It’s quite worrying really.

MrsMaxDeWinter · 12/01/2023 22:31

Just announced:

HEART OF INVICTUS, the documentary about the Invictus Games, coming to your Netflix screens in Summer 2023, just before the Invictus Games 2023 in September in Dusseldorf.

Also announced: a second print run for SPARE in France.

As predicted, by the end of this week, Harry will have sold at least 2 million copies of SPARE world wide, and earned back his reported advance. In just two days, he has outsold Piers Morgan AND Angela Levin's lifetime sales, combined.

That's what's next.

No divorce announced.

And still not returning to the UK. 😁

ArseInTheDogBowl · 12/01/2023 22:34

And still not returning to the UK. 😁

Excellent news!

Spck · 12/01/2023 23:08

@FanFckingTastic I think it will be described as having a PH moment when somebody whines about things from a privileged position

Just saw that the NF special hit 1Number 2 for Neilson Streaming Ratings this week.

So, more best sellers and hit shows I would expect.

Both Netflix and Publisher are happy with the money they spent I bet.

onlylarkin · 12/01/2023 23:22

Oops typo.

Neilson Streaming Ratings Top 2 is what that meant.

Youwhatnowbiggles · 12/01/2023 23:29

It would be sooo lovely if they used their privileged position to do some altruistic real good in the world, rather than just aim to be rich hypocritical slebs. Pigs might fly, but wouldn’t it be nice if they did.
