Harry is not welcome at the Coronation by senior royals in case their conversations appear in the paperback edition of 'Spare'. (A source reveals).

Can't say I blame them.

You should try to wean yourself off of the gutter press. Or at least not believe the shit they write.

OhhhhhhhhBiscuits · 12/01/2023 07:03

He will be invited and he will not attend. It's very simple.

rumship · 12/01/2023 07:03

Story's all over now but this seems credible also. Even the MOD are having to review Harry's service history, to ensure the can brace for any more of his truths being spun.

He's a real threat to security now all for money and fame.

It's not much of a stretch to imagine that most of them don't actually want him there though is it, even Charles must be torn on this.

ZellyFitzgerald · 12/01/2023 07:42

I think the optics for Charles would be awful if they attended.

The coronation would be broadcast everywhere and watched for years to come just like the late Queen's is.

If Harry and Meghan come the crowd will most likely boo. Don't think Charles wants booing at his coronation even if it's not meant for him.

That's not even going into security issues and the fact the RF don't want to give H and M any more Neflix material.

lifeinthehills · 12/01/2023 08:05

I read in another thread that Harry would have to take an oath of allegiance as a duke. If so, wouldn't he have to attend, or can that be done another time? What if he chooses not to take such an oath? I admit I know nothing of these protocols.

Apparently that is being changed so only William pledges allegiance, as future King. Partly to modernise the ceremony, but also neatly solves the Harry problem.

But I agree I cannot see Harry at the coronation no matter how much Charles might love his son and want him there.

Thanks for the explanation. I guess time will tell if Harry is invited or attends.

thebellagio · 12/01/2023 08:22

I suspect the allegiance thing is more to solve the Andrew issue than the Harry issue tbh

CryingAtTheDiscotheque · 12/01/2023 08:23

Ah, more of the RF’s “dignified silence”…

Fushiadreams · 12/01/2023 08:24

Only William will pledge allegiance, but they won’t attend. Maybe not through choice.

honestly I think they would have the brass neck to turn up. They tried to take Netflix to the jubilee. Wanted to be on the balcony. Tried to get Meghan into balmoral when the queen was dying.

and the book was written, the docu series finished by then.

they even fronted up to look at flowers at the queens funeral with William and Kate, knowing what they’d said, knowing William and Kate didn’t know the extent of it.

that takes a brass neck. So I reckon they need to be not invited as I think they’d possibly front up if they are. harry has never said they wouldn’t, it was not aappropriate, he’s effectively said it’s possible .

DogBowlsAreMyWeapon · 12/01/2023 08:26

That’s a shame. Hopefully Harold will let us know what his penis was doing on this state occasion even though he’ll not be attending.

sydneysunset · 12/01/2023 08:28

Agreed, no-one could rely on Harry or Meghan to 'do the right thing' and stay away - they are utterly shameless - so making it clear they are unwelcome is the best way.

Shelley1109 · 12/01/2023 08:33

What amazes me with all of this, all the comments from everyone, that feel so strongly; all the speculation and 'H&M did this' or 'K&W did this' without any factual first hand information. Everything the public know is via media which we all know is quite often far from the truth.

How anyone can feel so strongly or be so wrapped up in it is just absurd.

If people cannot recognise that the media are the biggest part of the whipping up of a shit storm, there is no hope 😑

thebellagio · 12/01/2023 08:34

The thing is whether they do or don’t go, they’ll end up getting the attention.

if they do go it will be pages and pages of what they wore, if they sang the anthem, body language, interactions with family

if they don’t go, it will be pages and pages of what they did while the coronation took place, Harry claiming he can’t understand why he couldn’t go, claiming to be victimised. They’ll also release photos of Archie’s birthday party to claim some focus.

Theres literally no winners here on either side.

Inkanta · 12/01/2023 08:38

I really can't imagine Harry wants to be there. Seriously not bothered - done with the institution.

Um, there is a book out. Do keep up 😂

DogBowlsAreMyWeapon · 12/01/2023 08:41

Yeh I think someone missed the secret memos about tv interviews and a book.

Roselilly36 · 12/01/2023 08:44

H&M have the perfect excuse not to attend as the Coronation falls on Archie’s 4th birthday.

maeveiscurious · 12/01/2023 08:48

After the book and the interviews why would they want to attend. The recent actions are actively burning the bridges and screaming from the rooftops.

I am sure they will be far happier without the RF

The Daily Mail are relentless with these hard headlines - that hard they are laughable. Will they ever self combust in their shit storm.

Not quite sure what a kids 4th birthday has to do with it, think a Coronation might just trump that but yes if they need an excuse then I guess we'd all be more than delighted if they stayed away.

Treetrim · 12/01/2023 08:52

For the drama of it, I hope they go. It’s entertainment if nothing else .

Yes yes it’s real lives but lots of people I know have family issues but the royals are the ones plastered all over the media and in the bookshops

In which case why didn't H say that in his interviews?

Rather he's made clear he's in no hurry to give up his titles and was deliberately vague about attending the coronation.

This is why he and M lose the respect of some people (including myself).

By all means rail against the RF and the institution of monarchy, but don't adopt a slash and burn approach whilst still expecting to feather your nest from those connections.

pelargoniums · 12/01/2023 08:55

Isn’t that why it was booked for Archie’s birthday? So Charles can graciously extend the invitation to save face, knowing they’ll say no, and H&M can graciously decline with a valid reason to save face, and the whole bread and circuses show continues apace.
