Harry is not welcome at the Coronation by senior royals in case their conversations appear in the paperback edition of 'Spare'. (A source reveals).

Can't say I blame them.

If true, that's rather tacky
And yes, she does list both funeral and a Platinum Jubilee TV special as as credits for "self" (as opposed to as "actress"

There are three upcoming productions listed for 2023:

Meghan Markle: Unforgived
Harry & Meghan: The Great Divide
Modern Royal Weddings

Yeah - I didn't believe it last year when it was mentioned somewhere - I thought wtf surely noone would approve stuff like that as tv appearances on an IMDB page (especially a funeral) - but there it was ... but now the Coronation has disappeared

@DogBowlsAreMyWeapon " How the fuck am I EVER going to be able to use it again without muttering “it rubs the lotion on its skin” or “are you my mummy?”. "
😂lolz
I'm glad i use Savlon for all my little scratches and cuts, I don't have that thought to have cope with next time i need the first aid cream.
E. Arden could rake in a fortune with a new ' Norman Bates ' collection for men. Pour Norman, pour vous!

@Sarahcoggles " Bouncy castle already booked and they'll lose their deposit if they cancel "

hee hee 😂 Still at least they saved money on having to hire a clown or two!

@EsmaCannonball " Nevertheless, it was still a shock when she said I looked like a 'ginger Rory McGrath' and said she didn't want to share a pew with someone 'when she was more familiar with his penis than with the back of her own hand.'

Many LOLz! 😂😂😂

confusedcentral5 · 12/01/2023 23:52

I thought senior royals didn't discuss these things via the press?

whynotwhatknot · 13/01/2023 00:06

either way he'll twist it to make it look like hes the victim-again

ittakes2 · 15/01/2023 07:03

Actually I think Harry should offer not to come to the coronation - can you imagine how much more now the tax payer has to pay for security? He doesn't care!

What amazes me with all of this, all the comments from everyone, that feel so strongly; all the speculation and 'H&M did this' or 'K&W did this' without any factual first hand information. Everything the public know is via media which we all know is quite often far from the truth.

How anyone can feel so strongly or be so wrapped up in it is just absurd.

If people cannot recognise that the media are the biggest part of the whipping up of a shit storm, there is no hope 😑

This 💯

"A source reveals" - so rather proving Harry right on on all this Palace briefing to the tabloid newspapers that he alleges.

Not really, unless this "source" proves to be accurate. We all know what the gutter press are like - they could literally be making this shit up.

I've seen two headlines today (in the same publication) - one claims Harry isn't coming to the Coronation and will be told by Rishi Sunk that he's not invited. The other headline claims that reconciliation is on the cards, and that Charles/William want to make things right with Harry, and that once they all "get in the same room" a week or so before the Coronation, things will be smoothed over. WTF?! They can't both be true, yet they're both being reported by the same gutter press paper.

I don't doubt there were/are/have been some leaks but I really do think sometimes they just make this shit up.

Also, let's not forget that Harry's side of the story was also frequently leaked - I think it's a case of people in glass houses throwing stones with ref to Harry's claims.

HaroldeVwilliam · 15/01/2023 07:58

It would be a diaster for Charles to invite Harry.

Harry should be invited and go along with his wife and DC if possible/allowed.

Harry is still the monarch's son.
Harry was the queen's grandson and as such titles or not attended her funeral.

Charles should be doing deep reflection on his parenting and doing all he can to make up to Harry.

Charles did interviews. Charles wrote a book saying unpleasant and very personal things about his parents. Charles treated Diana absolutely disgracefully.

Harry is the result. Make it up Charles and call a truce and give them their deserved role at the coronation and lead by example like a parent should.

HaroldeVwilliam · 15/01/2023 07:59
  • get in the same room to bully and gas light him again?
Sleepwalkingintothewall · 15/01/2023 08:08

I imagine them both turning up like Team Rocket in Pokemon. And that manga pacing music starts up to signify A BATTLE.

RocketIceLollie · 15/01/2023 08:11

I'm not convinced we'll see Harry step foot on these shores again for a very long time to be honest.

Just putting this out there but last year Meghan's IMDB page included the Coronation 2023 as an upcoming TV credit appearing as herself (like her appearance at the Queen's funeral is also on her credit list). Now it is no longer there

Read into that what you will

I tried to find this IMDB page to see the listing of the jubilee. Would you be able to link?

Crabo · 15/01/2023 08:13

Frankly as one who is sick and tired of this ginger half wit making millions out of our National institution (and therefore us) I would like him to simply return the £32 million the British tax payer forked out for his wedding and give us a cast iron guarantee he will settle down in his California mansion among is lackies and not bother us any more.

www.imdb.com/name/nm1620783/

You need to scroll down to below "photos" and "known for" to "credits" and its there under "self"
The "upcoming" tab has the the three I listed above, and the "previous" includes both Jubilee and Funeral

I agree that they should be invited.

Yes Charles's memoirs from 25 years ago criticised the parenting he had received (caused a big fuss when that came out) but wasn't a full on litany of complaints. He wasn't caught out by fact checking, the tone was more measured, and he didn't describe his sibling's genitalia

Harry's book contains enough errors in the checkable parts that no reliance can really be placed on the rest. I don't think the royal family needs to do anything.

HaroldeVwilliam · 15/01/2023 09:18
  • to not invite Harry that should say.

Charles has not suffered a major trauma like Harry did re recalling date's.

Agree Williams privates is going far too far!!

agedasiago · 15/01/2023 09:24

I wouldn't read anything into the IMDB pages - the site is crowdsourced and it's easy to get approved as a contributor. Some celebrities probably do have someone on staff periodically checking and correcting their info, but they can't lock down an actor's listing to prevent others from modifying it. I don't think that, for example, Tony Blair and Theresa May have proactively added themselves to the funeral - let alone George VI and Winston Churchill, who appear via "archival footage"!

The Charles III coronation page is still up; if we believe the current version Archie and Lilibet are attending but not their parents.

Petronus · 15/01/2023 09:28

EsmaCannonball · 12/01/2023 13:58

If I were the royal family, I'd be tempted to circumnavigate 'never complain, never explain' by inviting him and then saying what the hell I liked, knowing it would find its way into print.

Extract from Spare II:
I'd always been wary of Princess Alexandra since an episode where I'd watched 101 Dalmatians after consuming several weed-laced flapjacks and dreamt of her clad in the dripping carcasses of a thousand red squirrels. Nevertheless, it was still a shock when she said I looked like a 'ginger Rory McGrath' and said she didn't want to share a pew with someone 'when she was more familiar with his penis than with the back of her own hand.'

I felt like fleeing the Abbey and just finding a comforting Nando's, but I looked up at one of the gargoyles and it seemed to be beaming thoughts straight into my brain: You can do this, Harry. This is your destiny. If you run now, you will never become Prince of World Peace.

I was further buoyed by Freddie Windsor complimenting my TKMaxx socks, but I later heard him whispering to Tom Parker Bowles, 'God, who wears towelling to a formal.'

This is brilliant - more please!

OutwiththeOutCrowd · 15/01/2023 09:41

It seems to me that the palace are at the dangling ideas stage. Leak one scenario and gauge the reaction of the hoi polloi. Leak the opposite scenario and do the same. Factor this into final decision.

I think it'd be terrible if Harry misses his father's coronation.

Why?
He's a total embarrassment not just to his family but to himself
He's so well to stay in America out the way!

ittakes2 · 15/01/2023 09:52

I think Harry should do the right thing and say he is not going to come because of the increased security costs his attendance will attract which will need to be paid for by the tax payer!

MelroseGrainger · 15/01/2023 09:53

pelargoniums · 12/01/2023 08:55

Isn’t that why it was booked for Archie’s birthday? So Charles can graciously extend the invitation to save face, knowing they’ll say no, and H&M can graciously decline with a valid reason to save face, and the whole bread and circuses show continues apace.

The idea that a reigning monarch’s coronation - a national state and constitutional event, and national public holiday which has to go through parliament - would be scheduled deliberately on a four year old’s birthday so that the parent’s have a “valid” excuse not to attend because on a petty ongoing family argument, is laughable.
Please do stop putting so much stock into this!
It’s all part of at least a thousand years of British monarchical drama, and there’ll be at least another thousand years to come. So pace yourself.

Ah, more of the RF’s “dignified silence”…

Yes the poor loves, they are so constrained and silent in their billionaire palaces with only a large network of cronies to nab the big interview slots and opine about their suffering (and attack Harry's mental health - a nice touch from self styled mental health ambassadors).🙄

Coronateachingagain · 15/01/2023 10:10

@MelroseGrainger the Coronation is not a constitutional event. The more important constitutional event already happened, Charles is King.

The Coronation is religious in nature.
