Cat tired in this weather

My 15 year old cat slept most of yesterday and still seems rather lazy and unbothered about going out despite normally being a night cat.

She isn't ill but it's hot so I'm assuming the heat is causing this. She's eating and drinking and otherwise ok, just tired.

Anyone else's cat the same?

Yes, none of mine are as playful. One of mine likes to go and sit in the middle of our lawn from about 7pm and he stays there for hours like a granddad. 😂

Mine are spending almost the entire day time sleeping. Girlcat is doing her famed impression of "cat run over by a steam roller" and even Tobias is lying flat out rather than curled into a ball.

Absolutely - mine are flopped. I tried cool mats in the past but they just give them a wide berth 🙄. I also put ice cubes in their water bowls.

I have 5 cats and 4 of them have been sleeping around the garden and in the house. The other one likes to worry me and has not been seen since 8am this morning, she was gone from 10am to 9.30pm yesterday I guess she has found a nice cool place to hide.

I’ve never had a cat that ran around and played in hot weather. They are designed to be lazy in the most comfortable temperatures! Today mine has slept, eaten, and sipped fresh water. She is currently flopped dramatically in front of the fan, looking beautiful. 🐈‍⬛

My five black cats are always like this in the heat. I appear to have molten tarmac blobs everywhere.

Same with my two, and one of them eats very little in the heat, just wants water.

there is a distinct lack of cat tax on this thread! kindly pay up as i want to see lounging kitties 😂

Mine is either baking herself in the front window or burrowing under the duvet. She is 16 so I can only think she knows what she wants by now.

Yes, all three of ours are flat out and aren't particularly hungry. I'm just making sure they have plenty of water, cat milk and Lik-e-Lix available to keep their fluids up.

I currently have a foster kitten, he’s desperate to go outside and chase the birds! He’s spent the day either on the sofa or on the cold kitchen floor tiles!

They can't take off their fur coats! A good fan is a brilliant investment and ice cubes in their water bowl.

I have a fan, ice cubes and a cooling mat. All being ignored by the cat who is now snoring on a wool blanket

Mine has laid outside most of the day in the shade! Came in for his tea about an hour ago and has gone out to lie down again! He’s floofy and long-haired so must be feeling the heat!

Mine’s spent most of the weekend dozing in her shady spot on our east facing balcony, occasionally coming in for drinks or snacks.

Mint too.. sleeping all day than out in evening til we lock up.

Mine took herself into the coolest room in the house and slept for hours. She is eight.

unfortunately lots of sleep in the day means even more howling tonight!! I predict she will want to play at around 3am

My 15 year old boy has spent most of the day outside on the shadiest windowsill. 13 year old girl is basically living in the shed during the heat.

I've put a water bowl outside, and the back door has been open, but they're barely eating. Saying that not am I, so can't blame them.
