New thread for the inmates of Toddler Towers. Strange to think, it's about two completely different cats, from the original
Thread. But Magic, Maia and Cheddar will never be forgotten.

Poor little mite.

TheLongRider · 30/10/2024 21:32

I hope everything works out. I know you've been through this before with Magic and it worked out in the end.

Toddlerteaplease · 30/10/2024 22:10

Magic's was a one off, so it was easier to deal with. As there was no option but to remove the eye. I'm not sure that Penelope will tolerate invasive treatment such as grafts etc. I'm
Hoping we can identify what's causing it and prevent it that way.

She's had a second dose of gabapentin and is definitely a bit dopey. She allowed me to carry her around. She's not a fan of that usually!!

Was it her left eye last time?

Toddlerteaplease · 31/10/2024 08:54

Yes.

It weird as this one has followed the exact same pattern as last time. She has been ab only cat for two weeks both times. It healed, then flared up again, worse than before. Hopefully should hear from the vets today.

So hard

Hey are both a bit quiet this morning. Pen is drugged. But not like Dotty to come for breakfast!

OP posts:
Toddlerteaplease · 31/10/2024 17:46

The girls have finally decided to get out of bed. I'm not worried about Pen as she's a bit dopey because of her gabapentin. But it's not like Dotty to sleep all day. Unless it is actually her usual behaviour and she's calming down!

OP posts:
Pixiedust1234 · 31/10/2024 22:18

Maybe Dottie has been on high alert due to everything and everyone being so new to her but now she's having a kind of adrenaline crash. She will be aware Pen isn't her usual self and less likely to move so she feels it's safe to decompress. Or maybe she just fancied a duvet day 😴

Fingers crossed for Pen and hope the vets manage to sort her eye out soon.

Toddlerteaplease · 01/11/2024 03:36

Yes that's what I'm thinking.

Penelope had just done a huge wee on my bed. She has never done that ever. I think twice daily gabapebtin maybe a bit much for her!

She perked up around lunchtime. She's got an appointment with the ophthalmologist on Thursday.

Oh poor Pen, and poor you! Hope you found it quickly and not by sitting in it......

Toddlerteaplease · 01/11/2024 21:52

She did it in front of me. Straight after a night shift. Fortunately I have a spare duvet.

Toddlerteaplease · 01/11/2024 21:54

I'm keeping Dotty separate when I'm not there as Penelope is clearly a bit fragile although introductions have been going well. And she's been her usual self, other than for the last couple of days. I don't know how much sight she has in that eye. So I going to be a bit nervous.

OP posts:
Toddlerteaplease · 03/11/2024 17:42

I'm trying to persuade Dotty to sit on my knee. But she is refusing as I'm not wearing navy work trousers.

Penelope is helping with my referencing. I'm trying to reach for my tea, and she keeps pawing my arm to stop me!

Keeping your nose to the grindstone!

Toddlerteaplease · 03/11/2024 20:25

Shes off the gabapentin and clearly feeling better!

Wondered where Dotty was. She didn't touch this bed, when it was in her room. Noe it's in mine, she loves it

Dotty looks very content. She seems like a calmer presence than Paddington.
