Paws crossed for Cheddar please. She's very quiet and not herself at all. She's slept on the sofa all day and not come for cuddles. I've given her some Metacam, and got a vets appointment for tomorrow morning. I'm at work tonight, or else I'd have taken her tonight.

Glad she's ok Flowers

But, what a drama queen!

Threetoedsloth · 10/04/2024 12:30

So glad she's OK. They love to worry us don't they?

Toddlerteaplease · 10/04/2024 13:00

She's not been on my bed this morning. I was on nights last night so went to bed as soon as we got home. Which is unusual, but I'm reassured that her bloods were ok so not to concerned

She did put up some resistance to her eye drops.

She's still quiet. But the house has gone quite cold. So I wonder if she's also a bit stiff.

So glad to hear she’s ok Toddler 🧡

Toddlerteaplease · 10/04/2024 14:18

She's sleep on the sofa but looks a bit more comfortable. I think she's probably just feeling a bit rubbish. We think she's hit a virus. I've had a cold and pen is a bit snotty.

Pen is loving having me to herself though!

She's recently back from the cattery, isn't she? One of mine picked up a virus at the cattery last year - runny eyes, lethargy, loss of appetite and high temperature. Antibiotics sorted it out - which sounds strange for a virus - but apparently viruses cause secondary bacterial infections in cats.

Toddlerteaplease · 10/04/2024 14:25

Yes she is. Her temperature was fine at the vet. So I don't think she's got an infection. She currently having a drink. So that's reassuring. I've had the heating on for a bit. She does get a bit stiff in the cold. As she's 12.

She's lost more weight and looks thin. But I don't think she's eaten much yesterday or the day before.

I hope Cheddar picks up soon and is back to herself.

SevenSeasOfRhye · 10/04/2024 14:32

Glad her temperature is OK.

LostCats · 10/04/2024 15:28

Oh heavens. I had no idea she was 12! Same age as my beloved boy Boone

Toddlerteaplease · 10/04/2024 18:31

She's eating lik e lix and has been letting me cuddle her. Thats a relief.

She's been on the bed this evening, and came downstairs to tell me it's bedtime and demanded a cuddle. Looks like normal service is being resumed. Pen has been patting her head with her paw

She seems really unhappy again this morning. 😰

Scampuss · 11/04/2024 10:42

Any chance it's arthritis and she's waking up stiff and uncomfortable in the mornings?

Could you trial her on pain meds?

My old boy really welcomed a plug in heat pad.

Toddlerteaplease · 11/04/2024 11:01

@Scampuss yes that's what I'm thinking. The house went very cold the other day. So I wonder if the chafing weather is upsetting her. But she's had metacam and it's not helping. And it gives her diarrhoea. My dad has hit the nail on the head when he said she doesn't sit still. I've always thought she was incapable of it. And that's what she is doing. Got another appointment later if she doesn't perk up.

Scampuss · 11/04/2024 11:12

Hopefully a different pain med will help 🤞🏼

Toddlerteaplease · 11/04/2024 11:23

I've always thought she had kitty ADHD because of her inability to sit still. So it's horrible seeing her sit so still.

I'm
Also wondering if she's injured herself tearing round the house with Penelope. She's been having a second kitten hood.

Breadcat24 · 11/04/2024 17:35

Hope Cheddar perks up.

Deathraystare · 11/04/2024 17:49

Lots of second guessing here! Wish she could talk!!

Hope everything is ok!

Toddlerteaplease · 11/04/2024 18:11

She's got arthritis. Probably flared up by chasing round after Penelope like a kitten. She's having solensia and a short course of gabapentin. She's sulking as I suggested that she's maybe too old to chase after Penelope.
