Ginger female cats are quite uncommon, does Cheddar get mistaken for a male cat?

@SongbirdGarden yes. Everyone thinks she's a boy. She's technically red rather than ginger. I don't know if they as as uncommon as ginger girls. I don't think I've come across another red girl.

Penelope looking very chilled out. This is a recent thing.

Compare Penelope there to the picture you had before you adopted her, of her looking miserable in her show carrier clearly saying 'rescue me'!

The cutest thing just happened. Cheddar just climbed on me demanding to be cuddled. Penelope saw this, and walked along the back of the sofa squeaking to me, also wanting fuss. I think she wanted to sit on my knee but isn't quite there yet.

I've posted this in another cat thread, but my sister sent me a photo of a missing cat (now found) in Mexico. I thought this one could possibly beat Penelope in doing a cross face.

Difference there is Penelope looks quite cute with a cross face, but that Mexican cat looks Satanic!

Penelope is a cutie, as is Cheddar of course, but I think Mexican cat also has a weird cuteness about her. She also looks like she has a white stripe down her back like a skunk.

@RumNotRun that's hilarious. I have had that look a few times from all of mine in the past.

I suspect Penelope's ears are playing up again. So back to the vet tomorrow evening. Want someone to have a look to see what state they are in, before restarting drops. I rang the vet and the receptionist knew exactly who I was 🤣

It's the way they are looking at each others' feeders ...

Sad news tonight, looks like St Francis rescue is probably closing. The founder is over 80 and in poor health. And the other branch are struggling. 😰

Took Penelope and to the vet as I thought her ears were bothering her again. Her Right ear is inflamed. Left ear is fine. Her mouth is still very inflamed. Probably because there is still a stitch in it. We tried to get it out, but it's wedged in. So back on ear drops and metacam. Fortunately as it's a post op problem, it was free. And I have a private repeat prescription for the drops. She looked at me absolute daggers , so I'll have to sleep with one eye open.

What a shame about the rescue, hope they can carry on.

And poor Penelope, it doesn't seem to end for her, does it? Fingers crossed she's all sorted soon.

I'm going to give her drops for a week. Then go too twice weekly, then hopefully just weekly. Got a private prescription and have ordered online for half the price the vet charged. Fortunately as her teeth count as a post op problem, I didn't have to pay. She may need the study removing under sedation.

Plumber is here to do the boiler service. Cheddar was very pleased to see him. He thought she was angry as she was wagging her tail. She's never ever angry! I'm sure she'll be very helpful when he does the gas fire. She was last year. 🤣

It appears from my Facebook memories, that February is a cursed month for my cats. Magic got pancreatitis and lost her eye in February, (several years apart) and Maia had jaw surgery.
Penelope better not be heading the same way!

My friend dies transport for another pedigree rescue, and picked up this boy yesterday. I wonder if he's related to Penelope

Hopefully this February will be a break in the pattern 🤞🏼

What's the story behind the boy cat there? He looks in a sorry state.

I think he may be her brother. He's been given up by the breeder. (In London, Penelope's original breeder was also in London) my friend had taken him to the other Persian rescue. It feels like fate!! God knows why he's had a lion cut. Pen is fluffy but short haired.
