I'm amazed that the first thread has filled up. So he's another thread about the inmates of Toddler Towers!

He does look like the sort of cat who will be really loving! I find I have a different sort of bond with boys than with girls; really hard to put into words but it feels different. I have always had one of each for the best of both worlds.

Toddlerteaplease · 25/04/2024 19:10

I'm told he's shy but a total love bug when settled. I do t know why he's being rehomed though.

I think he has an intelligent look about him.

Toddlerteaplease · 25/04/2024 20:31

He's a Persian. Their intelligence is limited.

He might be an outlier!

felinelucky · 25/04/2024 20:49

Ooh, a boy! So excited for you, Toddler. Love the boy cats.

I do feel he needs a mustachio-related name, like Poirot.

Ambrose? (Based on a google exercise I did on famous moustaches that led to the discovery of Ambrose burnside).

Toddlerteaplease · 25/04/2024 21:27

So far the shortlist is
Zomorph
Parker
Poirot
Ziggy
Goblin

Trying bit to get to excited as he might not come. He might not be suitable.

If he is the cat who is meant for you, he will be suitable and everything will work out. If he isn't, he will be a step on the path to your meant-to-be cat.

JoanOgden · 25/04/2024 21:39

I hope it works out! I think that Parker, Poirot and Ziggy all go well with Penelope; Zomorph and Goblin less so.

Toddlerteaplease · 25/04/2024 21:58

It kind of felt like it was meant to be, when my usual rescue texted to say that the original candidate wasn't coming.

My mum has suggested Paddington. Which seems to suit him. Or carrying in the engineering theme, I thought Ismbard or Bazelgette

Cailleach1 · 26/04/2024 12:53

You could go straight to Brunel, from the Isambard Kingdom. He looks a gorgeous chap. Bazelgette is lovely.

Anniegetyourgun · 26/04/2024 13:15

Or Branston, given that Penelope's intended name was Pickle. He looks dignified enough for a Branston.

Toddlerteaplease · 26/04/2024 13:46

Hmm Branston.

Albert as in Einstein, with those whiskers.
i do like Parker though.

Toddlerteaplease · 26/04/2024 23:14

He's definitely not a Parker, possibly a Paddington. But not sure. He's much bigger than I expected, but seems very placid and chilled. He was happy for me to pick him up and give him a cuddle. Which I didn't expect. And also sat on my knee. He seems very well cared for and in good condition. Very shiny coat. And has come with a big box of his things. Don't know when he'll be coming home, that's up to the rescue. But will probably be able to visit him again.

Sherlock.

He looks much darker in these pics.

What's his backstory?

And glad the meeting went well!

Toddlerteaplease · 26/04/2024 23:28

Not sure what the bask story is. Something possibly to do with his owner being autistic, and maybe not coping, I think he's been passed from pillar to post a bit. But he's certainly been loved so hopefully not a rehab job. He's come with good quality food, and new toys and clean fleecy blanket. That makes a change!

OP posts:
TheLongRider · 26/04/2024 23:35

Ooh, he looks very sleek, like a well fed gentleman.

Scampuss · 26/04/2024 23:43

That sounds really promising.

Ellmau · 27/04/2024 00:39

He seems really lovely.

Toddlerteaplease · 27/04/2024 06:47

Yes apparently he's an absolute love bug when he's settled. Follows you around apparently. His coat is really soft and shiny, and he was happy to be stroked.

OP posts:
SoDoffYourHat · 27/04/2024 10:02

Oh, my goodness, what a beautiful boy!

Anniegetyourgun · 27/04/2024 10:04

It's all up to the getting on with other cats thing then. Over to you, Pen! If they just don't get on he'll almost certainly find a good home, at least, with his cuddly nature.

Penelope Pickle and Sir Theodore Branston has a certain ring to it, you can imagine them being announced at the Jellicle Ball.
