Came home from work tonight and no sign of Finlay
Then found him in his basket with blood on face - we think he may have been hit by a car - tried not to move him unnecessarily and rang emergency vets
We’ve just returned home to wait anxiously for X-rays and scans - main concern is he cannot weight bear on back legs at all
Ive asked for them not to PTS without letting us say goodbye
I don’t know whether to think the worst and hope to be proved wrong or or be hopeful and feel worse if it doesn’t work out for him
I am beyond devastated for those who remember me we lost Reuben and Evie back in May and have only had Finlay a few short months

Poor boy, he’s absolutely gorgeous. So glad he is on the road to recovery, all be it very slow😻

How's Finlay, OP?

JaceLancs · 23/12/2023 09:12

@TheShellBeach and everyone who has been holding my hand
Finlay is slowly improving - had wound check Friday and needs to be seen again end of next week - still has to keep collar on though which he is not impressed with although the padded one isn’t as annoying for him - I do remove it when I can fully supervise him not to lick wound area as he does enjoy cleaning everywhere else!
We are gradually increasing exercise to stop him getting bored - he definitely wants to run before he can walk!

Oh bless him! Thank you for the update. He does look a bit put out doesn’t he. But he is doing so well

TheShellBeach · 23/12/2023 10:07

Aw, Finlay.

Latest Finlay update - been to our vet this morning who is happy with wound and progress in walking - not using knuckle very often now
Sadly cone has to stay on and still to limit exercise to short bursts 2/3 times a day
Sleep is helping healing and he’s always been a Velcro lap kitten so no change there

Oh Lord, so do I.
Just in case it's bad news.
OP I'm glad Finlay is getting better.

Get well soon lovely Finlay. He does look wonderfully cosy.
