I hate her feeling left out so I always get her something, does anyone else do this?

No and I'm not going to. The little brat broke into my advent calendar last night and shredded the cardboard. Thankfully it has cans of cocktails in it and not chocolate. 😁

TheMousePipes · 04/12/2023 20:57

Five very fine catnip mice arrived with the postman today. I’ve had to put them in the attic because they are VERY pungent and dcat was prowling around sniffing the air.

Rainbow1901 · 04/12/2023 21:01

Our elderly cat always had cat treats as she was too old to bother playing with toys - she's gone now but we have now adopted a kitten and she will have a Kat Kong with treats to go inside!! She has plenty of toys but will play with anything that takes her fancy be it a box or a bit of paper!!

Toddlerteaplease · 04/12/2023 22:07

No, But when they went to the cattery over Christmas, they got a stocking.

Daffyyellow · 04/12/2023 22:08

No I don’t. But Father Christmas always puts some dog and cat toys and treats in the DDs’ stockings.

NormalForNuneaton · 04/12/2023 22:12

We don't have a cat .....so we buy one for next doors cat instead!

He spends lots of time here when the neighbours are not around so it would be rude not to

ThanksButNoThanksImDoneNow · 04/12/2023 22:12

Yes.
I’m going to replace her worn out catnip banana.

Dog gets a new toy too.

Of course. And all the pets in different parts of the family exchange presents.

I thought mine was the only family who did that! Dcats will be buying gifts for their doggy cousins.
It's the first Christmas with our two. So far I've got them some new toys and turkey flavoured food and treats. DP wants to get them one of those big scratch posts, hammock things. I might have to reel him in as we're short on space

I'm going to sound like a nutter here.

My cat gets several gifts for Christmas, plus a stocking just like my sons do.

Their stockings have chocolate in them, hers has catnip treats.

Her wrapped gifts are already under the tree. This year she's got one of those running water drinking things, a radiator cat bed, set of cat steps to get up to said radiator bed, a pack of 'stinkies', a tub of catnip, a spider on some string and a catnip sardine trio toy.

Christmas morning she sits with my sons in front of the tree and my husband helps her open her gifts.

MmedeGouge · 04/12/2023 22:29

Tin of sardines each. Wrapped up, under the tree.
They are disdainful of their presents until they are opened and served. (In small portions.)

Nope. All completely normal and absolutely what our masters deserve. Sounds very similar to our house 😊

menopausalmare · 04/12/2023 22:35

Of course. They share a stocking filled with catnip toys and dreamies. One cat has already started sniffing around the presents and tried to get at the catnip. Naughty girl.

DifficultBloodyWoman · 04/12/2023 22:35

Shouldn’t that be ‘does anyone not buy their cat a Christmas present’?

DCats always get presents. Wrapped. Under the tree.

One year, there was a particularly pungent catnip toy. DCat rummaged through the present (I think it was at the bottom) and shredded the wrapping paper to get to it. It took a while to figure out what the hell happened on Christmas morning. We only realised when we spotted the toy on the other side of the room.

TroysMammy · 04/12/2023 22:45

Mine doesn't get a Christmas present but he gets gifts throughout the year. He recently had a dog sized material tunnel after my niece took a photo of him, with the one he had as a kitten, wearing it like a jacket. He was too big to get through it.

He does like an Amazon box of any size and I rotate them so he thinks he gets new boxes all the time.

ALightOverThere · 04/12/2023 22:49

A catnip toy, although she can generally smell it out under the tree and opens it at night days before Christmas while we are all in bed.

This year I’ve bought her a pack of three catnip toys and she’s already sniffed it out in my wardrobe, so she’s having one of the three now and two for Christmas.

A box of tuna loins for my 5 rescue reprobates Smile

versiunal · 05/12/2023 00:15

I loosing wrap up some dreamies with a sprinkling of cat nip. She's spoilt every day to be fair

Pozz · 05/12/2023 00:20

Gingercatlover · 04/12/2023 17:04

Yes, huge bag of Dreamies 😻

Same!

Although this year I've bought him a radiator hammock, he won't know himself!!

versiunal · 05/12/2023 00:23

*usually

Stringagal · 05/12/2023 00:26

He has a calendar this year, and he has a stocking (tiny version of the kids’ ones) which will have a new toy and some Dreamies. I’ve also seen a USB heated bed but my husband says that’s ridiculous, as he gets the most joy from pouncing on wrapping paper. The cat not the husband.

My old girl loves a bit of tinned tuna (spring water only). Last time I cooked fresh tuna I sliced some off. This is the reaction I got for my troubles 🤷🏼‍♀️

Her face! "Mother, what the feck is dis?"

Am I the only one with a cat that won't touch 'human' food? Had my boy nearly 4 years. Not interested in prawns, salmon, tuna (tinned or fresh) or even chicken. Used to have a local cat that would swipe chicken off the bench in summer when the door was open. The only thing my lad likes is the froth off the top of a cappuccino.

BatshitCrazyWoman · 05/12/2023 06:13

Yes, this year she's getting a new catnip toy and some Dreamies. She's also bought a present for my chap's cats (although she's never met them and she hates other cats). She's thoughtful like that.

Soccermumamir · 05/12/2023 06:18

Yes I do 🙂 She has her own stocking too. We also still hang our Rabbits stocking up, although he passed away a few years ago now. He always got treats off 'Santa' too lol

We also buy MILs dog some treats fir Xmas as well 😁
