We have 2 rescues brother and sister, they're almost 14. I've just seen that a rescue near me hasn't been able to rehome 2 of their black cats (a pair) due to their age both 13.

I'm not planning on asking any questions about them, I'd love them but our cats are so spoiled I'd hate for them to be unhappy with supposed interlopers.

So if you have more than 2 and got them at various stages do they get on?

No I'm definitely NOT getting another 2!

1 and 3/4. One is a tripod 😸

I have a tripod so usually say I have 6 3/4 cats 😁 I swear that my three legged cat is faster than some of the 4 legged ones, it's crazy how well they adapt.

Isn’t it! Mine is a little unsteady when he walks but he’s like lightning when he runs!

5 rescues which is my limit. I'd never have less than 3 as I'd hate to have a lone kitty. They generally tolerate each other and find their own space in the house.
I always top up with another rescue as space allows

Carlycat · 17/01/2023 01:04

Plus one feral who rocks up for food and kips in my lounge 😻

thecatneuterer · 17/01/2023 10:26

I think currently around 46 - 22 of which are permanents. At least I can keep them tidy with my IKEA cat storage unit😁

My DH will be delighted to know that some people have even more cats than us!

Justonedayatatime11 · 17/01/2023 12:20

21

WildFlowerBees · 17/01/2023 12:24

I 'may' have enquired however they cannot be rehomed with resident cats so it's not happening. I also don't want either of ours to feel stressed or unhappy in anyway so we will stick with our two of everything animals!

Just the one and he's a psycho cat, I wouldn't get another one with him as he'd probably savage it like he does with my dh and I

Though dh works in a place where they have an office cat and the cat likes to sit with DH most of the day, it might explain why Dh gets savaged when he comes hone from work, our dear cat can probably smell it

ThatshallotBaby · 17/01/2023 21:02

Three. One chose us. The other two were rescued via my friend, they appeared in her conservatory at about 3 weeks old. Complete mystery as to how they got there. Brother and sister.

Soubriquet · 17/01/2023 21:06

46?!

Holy crap your food bill must be high @thecatneuterer

meow1989 · 17/01/2023 21:17

One currently, a 10year old girl. As of a week and a half we will have 3 as we're adopting 2 kittens Shock

Hoping girlcat will be ok, planning a slow transition and introduction. She was one of two for a long time (boy cat was a couple of years older) so fingers crossed she won't hate us and will at least tolerate the kittens!

goingtohellinahandcart · 18/01/2023 00:12

officially one, officially three as we seem to have been adopted by the 2 street cats, they spend most of their time in our house and one can be found snuggled up to dd2 on her bed

DomesticShortHair · 18/01/2023 00:18

The honest answer for me is one too few. No matter how many cats I do have, it will always be one too few.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 18/01/2023 00:38

Just this one - I am perched on the edge while she hogs the heated throw. She’s nine and my best girl.

DH always says we've got two too many! I grew up with four, which I would love, but know there's a limit in terms of cost and attention. We had two last time, was meant to be one this time, but Ollie needed to go with a brother - don't know why he's the more outgoing one - still I got my two cats!

Vinorosso74 · 20/01/2023 15:07

One. He hates other cats so it wouldn't be wise to have more.
The CP Centre I volunteer at recently took in several cats the RSPCA got from a multicat household. There were 82 cats in a one bed flat.

BluePolar · 20/01/2023 15:11

Just one and he is the best- I would like another, but DH and DD want a puppy. Considering I WFH and will be doing 90% of the care I think I should get the deciding vote.

been and done it. · 20/01/2023 16:00

We have 2..
Brought them back from abroad with us..we had them as kittens.
1 is a laid back monster Tom and the other is a super vocal blackie.
They pretty much live by the fire this time of year. Sadly the Tom has cancer so not sure how much longer we'll have him but for now he's okay.

BodyShapeWoes · 22/01/2023 20:43

5 of them…

Crazy cat lady

we have a black moggy, three bengals and a Norwegian forest cat 🐱

I'm not allowed anymore according to dh who didn’t notice the 3rd bengal for weeks 😂😂
