How many cats do you currently have?

We have 2 rescues brother and sister, they're almost 14. I've just seen that a rescue near me hasn't been able to rehome 2 of their black cats (a pair) due to their age both 13.

I'm not planning on asking any questions about them, I'd love them but our cats are so spoiled I'd hate for them to be unhappy with supposed interlopers.

So if you have more than 2 and got them at various stages do they get on?

No I'm definitely NOT getting another 2!

I have 2 but had 3 till my old boy died in September. They are sisters but with the same mum and different dad's. Totally different nature's and one is 18 months older than the other but we love them. My 2 year old girly is currently snuggled up next to me

BayandBlonde · 16/01/2023 20:14

Pressed post too soon.

Two are house cats, five are stable cats and the six with no names are ferals that were born here.

Absolutely not having anymore!

Pouffeycat · 16/01/2023 20:17

3 that actually belong to me. A pair of brothers we rescued 4 years ago and a 5 month old kitten. They are not impressed by him.
We also have many visiting cats.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 16/01/2023 20:21

2 mini panthers m/f from CPL

Female loves DH , loves DS bedroom, tolerates DD and holds me in contempt .
Male adores DD, is kitteny with DH, ignores DS and looks at me like I plan to skin him and wear him.

He stamps on us every morning and sleeps on our bed by day .

No more cats while they are here , she wouldn't have it and he doesn't like any disorder in his life .

Black Cats are the best BTW Grin

Only 1, would love another but the only cat Dcat will tolerate is her own reflection😜🤣

Even cats on TV elicit a really hostile, growling reaction!

WildFlowerBees · 16/01/2023 20:31

Love all the cat photos!

Most we’ve had was seven. Now have five. Ten years between the oldest pair and youngest triplets.

larchforest · 16/01/2023 20:34

We currently have four, all of whom are related to one another. They have their moments!

Some years ago we had two, and a distant relative passed away so we took on her elderly cat. It was rather a trial for a bit, but all three eventually sorted out a pecking order.

Having one bonded pair, and then taking on another pair of senior cats would be pretty difficult I think.

Babdoc · 16/01/2023 20:36

Just the one. A very feisty Madam, who terrorises the neighbourhood- not even the farm cats will take her on! I wouldn’t even consider getting a second cat, she’d probably eat it…

Saturn88 · 16/01/2023 20:37

1 - a ginger boy and I love him very dearly ❤️

Colourinsidethelines · 16/01/2023 20:39

We have 3, all rescued at different times. First one we got is a male 13, second male 14 and third female 8. 1st and 2nd get on really well. 1st and 3rd get on well. 2nd and 3rd don’t really like each other. 2nd spends a lot of time out the house and sleeping in conservatory on the next street!

TwoPointFourCatsAndDogs · 16/01/2023 20:42
  1. One we got as a kitten and was loved by us all including the dog. We then took in a stray (poor girl had been dumped locally just before Xmas). The cats tolerate one another. Kitten is now 5 1/2 and stray is about 8/9 don’t really know how old she is.
whataboutsecondbreakfast · 16/01/2023 20:42

Three - aged 7, 6 and 2. They're all black moggies - male and female farm kittens and a male rescue 🥰

SpentDandelion · 16/01/2023 20:43

Four, two are siblings.
All mine get on, the 3 younger ones are the closest, eldest one is good natured and very tolerant, they have free run of house and go outdoors, they all choose to eat and sleep together, 3 younger ones snuggle, eldest is usually in same room at night but prefers his own bit of space.
I love having four cats, have always had more than one cat, l wouldn't probably take another on as these cats work so well together.

I’m reporting the whole thread for rule breaking

2, very expensive little beasts. No room or money for any more!

noideabutstilltrying · 16/01/2023 20:50

We have 3. Got given a cat, Harley in 2018 after losing our black cat to illness.

Husband let her out before I got her neutered and we kept Smokey from the litter.

Husband let Harley out by accident again whilst I was counting down the days to getting her done and we kept Barry.

Have now got all 3 done. Harley and Barry get on well. Smokey dislikes everyone other than my daughter.

Panpastels · 16/01/2023 20:54

6 rescues (and a dog). They mostly get on ok!

cheeseislife8 · 16/01/2023 20:55

We have three. Two original ones, and a "temporary" foster from 2019 who ended up a permanent fixture!
They each have their favourite spots, their preferred cuddle times and their favourite toys. I do think any more additions might cock up the dynamic, but it does depend on how much space and time are available

Masterofcats · 16/01/2023 20:56
A very spoilt very cuddly neutered boy. He does not want to share his attention. He just about tolerates the cat up the road but gets noisy if he sees "his children" even stroke other cat. ( His lordship is oriental so very noisy, demanding and unreasonable) We have a peaceful home with no bad cat habits, fights or marking going on but lots of cuddles and interaction with his lordship. He goes out so could have cat friends etc but he doesn't like the other cats and they all sit on their own front gardens glaring at each other. He likes dogs though, gets on well with my mother's dog who visits regularly.
Pouffeycat · 16/01/2023 20:57

1 and 3/4. One is a tripod 😸

GuppytheCat · 16/01/2023 21:14

Two, aged 3 and 7, both runty odd-one-out of their respective litters.

Bigger Cat is a bit backward and really enjoyed having a kitten to galumph around with.

Ilovecats98 · 16/01/2023 21:20

We've got four, started with one, and then added another and another, first one had to be PTS, so then got another and then added a 4th. The oldest is now 9 and is very accepting of new comers, but it's never taken more then a few days to introduce them. Sometimes they love each other sometimes they hate each other
