Should I rename?

We adopted a beautiful boy this week (our first cat so I'll probably be back for more advice). He's an ex stud, in the loosest terms as he had undescended testicles, he's called Frank but there's no reaction to his name at all.
We're not set on Frank mostly because it was my grandad's name and also because everyone keeps forgetting his name so it doesn't feel like it 'fits' if that makes sense?
So first question is should we rename him? His GCCF name does have Frank in it but we won't be showing him and he's neutered.

Second question is what would you call him?

What was your grandads middle name? Would that be an option?

DisforDarkChocolate · 10/12/2022 17:39

Malcolm, he's definitely a Malcolm.

I agree I don’t think he looks at all like a Frank! I think he looks like a Roger. He’s gorgeous.

CatchHimDerry · 10/12/2022 17:46

I’m not even a cat person but what a beautiful cat! I think he actually suits Frank xx

Ludo19 · 10/12/2022 19:57

Frank is gorgeous 😍

If you’ve seen The Wire, I feel Bunk would be fitting.

Frank is quite the hunk.

SkylightSkylight · 11/12/2022 15:39

@LadyShmuck Do you know how he came to be in the rescue? I'm wondering if his previous slave died? He's clearly not been underfed!

I really want a cuddle!!

I don't know what I'd call him other than 'awww come for a cuddle'

As he's your 1st Cat do you know that cats have three names ?

1: the name you give him
2: the nickname that will evolve as you get to know him
3:the name he will answer to that only he lnows and you do not Grin

But rest assured the 'name' he'll come running for is the sound of his dinner hitting his plate .

DirectionToPerfection · 11/12/2022 16:26

He's a Roger or Bruce to me.

EarthlyNightshade · 11/12/2022 19:27

Frank. I might occasionally call him Francis if he was in the right mood.
Frankie if calling him in from outside. He'll come running out of sheer embarrassment.
