Does your cat sleep on your bed at night?

Cat One sleeps on my side of the bed until from 11.00pm til 5.30, then gets up and does cat things. He returns at about 9 to sleep on DH’s side of the bed. The person on the side of the bed he wants ends up sleeping diagonally.

Cat Two seems to have a rule that there can only be a maximum of two cats and one person on the bed. She will only sleep on the bed when DH has gotten up. She then sleeps on top of me in winter, or on the cat blanket at the foot of the bed in summer. She has been refusing to get on the bed if Cat Three is there.
Cat Three sleeps on the cat blanket or with his head on DH’s leg.

I get annoyed with cats making me hot, but if I wake up and there is no cat on the bed, I feel abandoned 😁

I'm the same. One of mine is an absolute pain, because she likes to wake me for cuddles. But is completely unable to sit still. Meaning I'm fully awake. But if I wake up and she's not there I'm abandoned! She's less impressed if I wake up and she doesn't move, so I poke her to check she's still breathing!

TalkingToMyselfAgain · 31/07/2022 19:09

I've always had cats (42 years) and every one of them has slept on my bed. It's normal to me

Yarnasaurus · 31/07/2022 19:12

On? Mine gets in my bed!

I chose a semi feral from rescue as I don't like lapcats or allow cats in bedrooms...

I have created a monster 😽

2reefsin30knots · 31/07/2022 19:13

Mine sleeps next to me under the duvet with her head on the pillow next to mine.

She gets up at about 4ish for cat biscuits then comes back and bats me on the face to make me life the duvet up so she can get back in. 🙄

PandoraP · 31/07/2022 19:14

My cat would tell you me and DH sleep in his bed 😉

7catsisnotenough · 31/07/2022 19:15

Our 6 sleep around the house or outside in the summer but pin us to the bed as soon as it starts to get cold!

We don't sleep well in the winter...!

Fluffycloudland77 · 31/07/2022 19:16

Bengal boy did until he decided 4:30am was wake mom up for food so that ended.

I don’t cope well with no sleep. Current cat sleeps under bed.

I have a cat that likes going under the duvet. I sleep curled up and she will curl
Up by my belly.

Nutrigrainygoodness · 31/07/2022 19:18

Sort of. It depends what kind of mood his lordship is in.
I go to bed before dw nearly every night.
Dcat will come upstairs jump on the bed give me boops and then go back downstairs to do important cat business.
When dw comes to bed the cat comes to and snuggles right into her and flops on his side with his head on the pillow. He will stay there for a while and then go to his own bed.
If its really hot he sleeps in the bath, and if it's really cold he sleeps under the duvet by my legs to annoy me.

Ours too! DCat goes through phases of either shoving me off my pillow (I’ll wake up to find him on it / find his bum in my face) or shoving DH gradually sideways.

JustTwoNights · 31/07/2022 19:18

My darling black cat sleeps on the other pillow (single mum with long distance partner). she's not mad on cuddling but I love how she likes to just be touching, even if it's just a paw on my arm or her back against my forehead.

RadFad · 31/07/2022 19:45

My 3 cats sleep on the bed all day and evening. When i actually turn the light out to go to sleep I put them out of the bedroom and close the door.
I don't want them bringing me 'presents' to my bedroom. I can't sleep properly when DH is in the bed and the cats are sleeping there too.

VerifiedBot2351 · 31/07/2022 19:47

No he sleeps on my teenage son’s bed.

SecretSnake · 31/07/2022 19:48

No ours aren’t allowed upstairs

RandomMess · 31/07/2022 19:50

No way mine are shut downstairs overnight for their 'big sleep' not a peep for up to 10 hours and they start harassing to be put to bed from 9pm

TwoBlueFish · 31/07/2022 19:59

Nope, having a dead mouse tossed around the bed at sill o’clock in he morning means the bedroom door stays closed!

lOPAS · 31/07/2022 20:08

One is locked away at night downstairs. Other one sleeps on DS bed.

BlueKaftan · 31/07/2022 21:32

She sleeps wherever she wants which is in several places throughout the night. If she’s hungry I get pounced on at an ungodly hour. But she gives lovely cuddles so all is forgiven.

Tigresswoods · 31/07/2022 21:34

No, she's shut in the kitchen with access to outdoors. She's a pain! No one wants to be washed at 5am.

RoseDog · 31/07/2022 21:36

Our bed from left to right is dp, the dog, me then the cat!

PrincessSpanky · 31/07/2022 21:38

We only have one now and she sleeps next to me, at my feet, sometimes on top of me or on my pillow. She follows me about and cosy on the couch with me as soon as I sit down.

I am definitely her human.

Hyvsvaar · 31/07/2022 21:40

Ours appears about 5 am for a quick nap, followed
by breakfast and scratchies from everyone until they disappear and she then sleeps fro mabout 9 am until 7pm with snack/stretch/loo breaks
she will move from bed when I shoo her off and i
will find her on a child’s bed or in a sunbeam somewhere
definitely sleep all day and prowl all night

JoanOgden · 31/07/2022 21:41

Yes. I go to bed before her as she likes to prat about outside for a while, but I always wake up in the morning to find her curled up at the foot of my bed. It is lovely.

TheHorrorOfIt · 31/07/2022 21:43

One of mine sleeps outside; one on DD’s bed and one on mine.

My DH is working away at the moment and he has now been replaced because DCat stretches over his quarter of the bed. The outdoor one comes in at about 5am and plonks herself at the end of the bed so I have to either starfish or sleep diagonally. It’s quite fraught but I like it!

EmpressaurusWitchDoesntBurn · 31/07/2022 21:45

He could if he wanted to, & I would like him to, but he prefers the carpet.
