Any suggestions for multiple cats?

Huge box with holes cut in each side and the top...

HarrietSchulenberg · 17/04/2022 17:31

Yes to a box. A laser pen is also good. My cat used to like little fluffy things scented with catnip until the catnip wore off. My childhood cat used to love a stick with feathers and bells on the end.

Cutting a box up right now! 😂😂😂

Ours like a crocheted jellyfish, tiny furry mice from the pet shop, plastic springs from Amazon and ping pong balls. Anything they can bat around!

Deadringer · 17/04/2022 17:40

A length of red string is the only thing dcat plays with, despite having lots of toys.

Alphabet1spaghetti2 · 17/04/2022 17:41

Rattley mice, small ping pong type balls, feathers, laser pens, catnip sprayed on anything. Dreamies hidden in anything. Boxes and bags, play tunnels.
(I have 5 furry overlords, these are the much in demand play items).

Pixiedust1234 · 17/04/2022 17:55

Well...whatever you give them won't be it. Fussy beggars.

My cat hates boxes and bags but adores crinkly foil balls. Easter egg foil is a decent substitute. Those little cloth mice are also good. Basically anything she can shove under sofas and beds but use a claw to hook them back out to give it a good kicking, so not ping-pong balls as too hard. Pets at home do a kind of small toy pickamix for a few quid, worth getting one of each type and see what they like (I get these for cats protection at Christmas as they are cheap, even rescue kitties deserve a present at that time Grin )

My daughters cat refuses to play with anything except uncooked pasta, and then its only fleeting. But he does love hiding/jumping in and out of bags and boxes.

catmint-stuffed mouse dangling from a stick

DCat likes the wiggly stick game - me writing with a pen or pencil

HighLifeNotEver · 17/04/2022 18:02

Shoelace and plastic tape tied onto a scratching post

Madcats · 17/04/2022 18:08

Both cats like Da Bird (wand with feathers). I don't know what they put in the feathers, but they love it.

Catnipt loving boy cat has a wine bottle toy filled with catnip(?) he kicks it most days.

Neurotic, maternal girl cat likes chasing up and down stairs after a pipe-cleaner "spider".
She likes carrying a fluffy thing around the house in her mouth.

Attacking my feet under the duvet at 4am seems to get them excited too. Me, less so!

Dontsayfuckorbugger · 17/04/2022 18:08

You can get little fish shaped bean bags full of cat nip which drive both mine and my friends cats into a state of ecstasy. They are called Stinkies. Cats love them. Get them from eBay or amazon

The only toy my grumpy boy will play with.

LaTomatina · 17/04/2022 18:14

Ping pong balls in the (empty) bath

Unexpecteddrivinginstructor · 17/04/2022 18:16

A pen, especially one half hidden under furniture.

chisanunian · 17/04/2022 18:19

The one we have that all of the cats do really play with is the Pets at Home 100% catnip plush ball cat toy. It is a round fluffy grey ball with 6 leather laces sticking out of it, so it does look a bit like a giant eyeless spider. £4. Customer reviews is 4.9 out of 5.

I'd post a link but my phone is playing up.

Chikapu · 17/04/2022 18:21

A cotton shopping bag, a balled-up pair of socks, bras stolen from the clothes horse, an empty Pringles tube...

GromblesofGrimbledon · 17/04/2022 18:28

Literally nothing. Likes to kick prawns about the house occasionally. Chases spiders and moths. Loves to be up high so Mr Grombles has built extensive catnaseums all over the walls for her to climb about on. She has a favourite box she sleeps in too.

RevolutionRadio · 17/04/2022 18:29

Mine likes the foam golf balls, she's also been known to play fetch with them.

BertieBotts · 17/04/2022 18:30

Scrunched up aluminium foil. Preferably from a kit kat.

crackofdoom · 17/04/2022 18:31

Pipe cleaners. Sometimes stripey cat will bring me one, meowing at the top of her voice. She's so good at providing for her family 😆

Penguinevere · 17/04/2022 18:31

Just get something and pretend it’s not for the cat.

Or laser pens and string.

LubaLuca · 17/04/2022 18:34

Crisp packets tied into a bow tie shape.

dodobookends · 17/04/2022 18:35

A paper Primark carrier bag.
