My dds cats used to love playing with wrapped chocolates ( like heroes) they used to bat them around the room like crazy and pounce on them to make sure they were properly dead. I only discovered this when I helped my self to a choc out of the box ( I was told to!) and realised there were teeth marks in the wrapper……. No, I don’t know why she put them back in the box.

I LOVE this thread! Ordering some smelly fish things, pulled some cake ties out of the drawer...

Another vote for paper scrunched into balls. My boy likes them tossed up the stairs when he is at the base, he will choose one to pounce on as it bounces down.
Except for the times when none meet his satisfaction which I twig after 15mins of repeatedly tossing paper balls up the stairs whilst he lets them bounce off his head.

Ping pong balls, little mice, his feathered wand toy, laser pointer.

Catnip mice, scrunched up paper, hair scrunches, dangly duck on an elastic string, emery boards (best when stolen and then hidden underneath rugs).

Deceased DCat - mice. We found a battery powered toy mouse that ran around like a real mouse.
Current DCat - pens, marbles, anything that rolls. Circular knitting needles. My knitting wool.

Large box with holes cut into it.

Sock filled with balls of newspaper, tied at one end, string added. Pull from a distance as they hunt it.

Yeowww catnip toys. The only ones our cat will entertain. They are expensive but they do last ages. He likes the green/yellow fish best. Neighbours' cat absolutely loves the Flying Frenzy wand with spinning feathers but my cat's terrified of it. He does love the "rat" attachment for it that I bought from Purrs in our Hearts online shop (he plays with the rat on its own without attaching it to the wand). Purrs in our Hearts have some really good toys

Oh my, it definitely depends on the cat. My cat doesn't like anything provided, unless another (neighbours) cat is around then he'll show off.

So I sometimes take them to cat sitting jobs and it is interesting how different their tastes are. Neighbours cat makes a beeline for one particular toy when she comes in, choosing it every time from a big selection.

These can be quite popular as they have their own momentum www.petsathome.com/shop/en/pets/pets-at-home-worm-roller-cat-toy#

For multiple cats, have you tried a tunnel?

My lady likes ping pong balls, the kids fidget spinners, toy cars, small teddy lion who gets savaged.
