Any suggestions for multiple cats?

A cork from a wine bottle.

GuppytheCat · 17/04/2022 18:41

This Kong thing with a fluffy tail.

violetbunny · 17/04/2022 18:41

One of mine loves hair bands (the thick elastic kind), although I don't let him play with them unsupervised.

Mine also love the huge sheets of scrunched up paper that are sometimes used as packing materials. Even better if I use a wand toy to make it look as if something is alive under it!

Things with feathers, but also I find they just get bored of seeing the same things. So have quite a few but keep most of them away in a cupboard and only have one or two out at a time on rotation. When they get bored of whatever you've currently got out it's time to switch it up.

All kinds of things can count as 'toys' to have in the rotation though (alongside bought cat toys) - toilet roll inner tube, pen, ball of scrunched up paper, piece of string, empty cardboard box/gift bag and especially hairbands - mine loves them for some reason. I also tie different things into their cat tower.

Fluffy bird on a string, laser pen, ball, old iPhone cable, weird battery-operated thing that spins with a feather on one side and laser on the other.

Paper scrunched up into a ball

RightOnTheEdge · 17/04/2022 19:07

My cat's favourite are the fishing rod type toys or playing football with any old thing that the kids have dropped like pens or drink lids or anything like that.

Lindy2 · 17/04/2022 19:17

Mine rather likes a plastic milk bottle top on the laminate floor. She'll chase it very happily.

I also recently got her a toy from Pets at Home that she absolutely adores. She plays with it everyday and sleeps with it. It's
a ball made from wooden sticks and contains something called silver vine in a little grey stone in the middle of the ball.

When I first bought it I had my shopping bags in the hall while I went back outside to get something from my car. When I came back inside Dcat had emptied the bag to get the ball out. I'm not sure what silver vine is but she absolutely loves it.

Three lengths of ribbon tied together at the top. Wave it around.
Old lip balm tubes.
An old empty paper bag

While the expensive toys from the pet shop gather dust

evenflo3 · 17/04/2022 19:32

My cat carries a long cable tie around with her, it's her favourite toy ever.

TroysMammy · 17/04/2022 19:38

Da Bird purrpellor. It cost £10 and lasts approximately 10 mins. I've bought craft feathers to replace the mauled ones. He tells us when he wants to play by whinging at the sideboard drawer where it is kept. He also has a catnip stuffed squirrel and an Ikea rat which both frequently get played with.

Leah2005 · 17/04/2022 19:41

A kicker - an oblong stuffed shape with a furry tail. He grabs it with his front feet and kicks like a furious rabbit with his back feet whilst biting it.

Leah2005 · 17/04/2022 19:41

Also a catnip banana

TroysMammy · 17/04/2022 19:42

He also likes Flying Tiger fluffy worms attached to a piece wool, a crinkle pop up play cube from Wilko which he likes rolling around in and jumping on top so it collapses.

greatbittern · 17/04/2022 19:43

shoelace
the wire bit off a bottle of prosecco
scrumpled up quality street wrapper
cable tie
biro lid balanced on the edge of something / under something
ping pong balls

Want2beme · 17/04/2022 19:47

This. She's loving the elastic which was holding a pair of shoes togetherGrin

This is Miss Mabel’s favourite. It lasts well and she puts it through its paces - especially if someone is fling a Da Bird overhead. It’s well worth £4.

Fluffycloudland77 · 17/04/2022 20:50

Human hands, expensive glass Christmas tree baubles, shoe laces on new shoes.

stevalnamechanger · 17/04/2022 20:53

Flirt pole !

Herja · 17/04/2022 21:00

Lego and marbles. I buy him the marbles specially (he hides them under furniture too heavy to move to get back). The lego he steals from DS; it's no fun without the fight.

Lonecatwithkitten · 17/04/2022 21:07

The pet stages Toucan and Fish neither of which you can get any more.

MamaWeasel · 17/04/2022 21:19

Marbles, cardboard boxes and pipe cleaners as well as anything filled with catnip.

Dazedandconfused10 · 17/04/2022 21:22

Mine has a toybox, what does she play with? A box from amazon that I'm now not allowed to throw away...

Dazedandconfused10 · 17/04/2022 21:23

Oh she also likes the little cable ties

IHateCoronavirus · 17/04/2022 21:24

Ours covets boxes, and she has a chunky brown hair band that she won’t be parted from.
