I am not allowed to touch the tail Sometimes I'm allowed belly rubs, other times I am just to admire the beauty with my EYES or I get smacked. I suspect cat is female

Has anybody successfully trained a cat of very little brain to use a cat flap? Wanda can't seem to grasp the concept 🤦‍♀️...

She'll use it if you hold it open, and has today (after 3 weeks of trying) progressed to opening it if it's propped slightly open. Her long gangly legs seems to get all of a fankle but she can get through. She won't push against the resistance when it's shut though... I expect we'll get there.

We have two flaps: one from utility into garage where the feeding stations and litter trays are... and one to outside. My worry is she'll get out one day and not be able to get back in.

That said, she has spent a fair bit of time outside so I'm fairly secure she knows where to come back to and it's probably only a matter of time till she gets it... at least weather is getting better so if she does end up outside when we're all out it's not too bad.... might leave shed open for her...

My Bengal was bright as a button but would fall off things.

@TalkedTooMuchStayedTooLong I was astounded when my not very bright cat took to using the flap in her Cattery like a duck to water.
