My silver car turned a faded shade of splotchy pink today due to Saharan sand. Was cursing my choice of black chinos today 'cause cat hair, but the cream ones I nearly wore would have looked very grubby after it rained.

Boycat is getting clingier by the week. He's started calling to me when he wants (yet another) cuddle. Maaw, maah, maah, maaw constantly. Doesn't really sound anything like a cat!

Fluffycloudland77 · 16/03/2022 20:35

It’s a full time job being Dusty isn’t it? He’s had to squeeze building inspection into already packed schedule. It’s a bit ostentatious as litter trays go but I think you’ll see him christen it soon if he hasn’t already.

Lidl had the smoked salmon reduced so Puddy and I had a little treat tonight.

Mistressofnone · 16/03/2022 22:17

@Fluffycloudland77 Dusty has indeed been busy surveying the site and project managing. It hadn't occurred to me that it's one big litter tray! It was all paved before so what a luxury that will be.

Puddy must be a very happy cat tonight. How lovely you can dine together. Doesn't she sit neatly with her little white paws together.

@Allergictoironing the old quandary of choosing chinos covered in cat hair or desert sand 😄

pawpaws2022 · 16/03/2022 22:26

I left Ollie all day today. He is unimpressed
The man came over, cooked me a delicious meal, washed up and saved some chicken for Ollie "with no seasoning sorry mate, mama says nothing to make you poorly"

I want a man like him! Does he have a brother?

No, she ate it like I never feed her and did the obligatory five minutes attention before scooting off under the bed for a nap.

Dh calls it her charging station, like the robo-hoover.

Supersimkin2 · 17/03/2022 07:44

Man 10/10. Appears a possibility as a suitor, says Capn.

Sahara’s been and gone. All the spring tulips here are covered in dewdrops and fistfuls of pink sand, rather exotic for SW4. Sky creamy, not alien-invasion green as yesterday. Lovely and fresh out.

Capn fell off the bed twice. Nothing else to report.

Allergictoironing · 17/03/2022 09:15

Rota day off today, as working Saturday. Boycat finally released me from bed cuddles after over an hour, and then only because Girlcat came to the bedroom door and loudly demanded his presence downstairs.

Must admit we had both drifted off into snuggly blissful sleep in front of the news all cuddled up together - bestest evah start to the day!

pawpaws2022 · 17/03/2022 09:16

Ollie is still being sick so back to the VET. He picks his days, honestly
I'm really grouchy as I'm so bloody tired (chronic illness shit), he can't help being unwell but my god Oliver, pick a better time Grin
He's bright enough but he's doing that lip smack thing where they feel sick and if I don't take him today you know he will be flopping about and want to go for a drive to OOH

OP posts:
Fluffycloudland77 · 17/03/2022 09:24

He did pick a good time, if you can’t time it for OOH rates you time it for your owner also being ill. Ollie is a professional cat, he doesn’t phone it in.

Sorry your ill too.

pawpaws2022 · 17/03/2022 09:27

@Fluffycloudland77 GrinGrin
He's shouting away as usual but I'm just a bit hmmmmm at the sickness and think he needs an anti nausea jab

I'm ok, just TIRED and wanted to get some rest

Papergirl1968 · 17/03/2022 10:46

Oh dear, poor Ollie.
The man sounds purrfect though, Paws.

pawpaws2022 · 17/03/2022 11:54

Vet says he looks a bit scruffy GrinBlush
Not thyroid, HR perfect but temp low. He's had anti sickness jab with a short acting steroid and instructions to eat little and often
Said they have him listed as age 10 but she thinks he's probably 13 ish (I always did too)

OP posts:
Fluffycloudland77 · 17/03/2022 15:46

Well a lot of us a looking a bit scruffy now this pandemics here.

Supersimkin2 · 17/03/2022 16:43

Capn’s a bit ‘natural look’ too Queen. Their coats get raggy when seasons change.

pawpaws2022 · 17/03/2022 17:34

Well he got home, sprung out the carrier, demolished a bowl of food and was "did I say I felt sick? I don't THINK I did"
HmmAngry

Supersimkin2 · 18/03/2022 00:55

So behaviour’s normal too.

Capn fell out of bed again. However, we’re both looking great cos he’s just been groomed and I’ve had to put on clean pyjamas, not unrelated.

Free! for craft project or similar: sack of orange fur.

I note for personal reasons there seems to be a pic of Matt missing, Papergirl. 😀

And a shot of Leroy so NDN can compare beauty with Havelock. Technical measurements and that. Not jealousy. 😀

TheLongRider · 18/03/2022 01:11

Last year I put the cat fur from grooming outside at nesting time for the birds to use. I put it in a fat ball feeder so the birds could pull chunks out. It worked pretty well and the fur was particularly popular with blue tits.

Now, I'm not sure what your average London pigeon is going to do with a sackful of orange fur. Pigeons aren't renowned for their nesting abilities. Are there any sparrows in SW4? You could always scatter it in the local park but you would probably be done for littering.

There's always the prospect of a "Knit your own Cap'n fur mittens" if you had enough fur. It has been done before and it sounds like the perfect hipster South London activity.

Fancy setting up your own craft club, Kirsty Allsop stylee?

HouseofHolbein · 18/03/2022 07:02

Needlefelting @Supersimkin2. All the cool kids do it. You stab fluff with a needle until it resembles something. I think. My friend does it and gets good results. I gave her a bag of alpaca hair to do something with.

Fluffycloudland77 · 18/03/2022 07:57

I’d love to have a garden with birds again, we used to refill daily at our last house.

Supersimkin2 · 18/03/2022 10:56

I didn’t have birds until the bird feeder Fluffy. It’s meant to be a bird bath but I get looks now if I don’t do the seeds early enough in the day.

Yes!! Needle felting!! A friend of a friend does pet portraits- she could use Capns fur to do him. Josef Beuys eat your heart out.

Fluffycloudland77 · 18/03/2022 12:19

We have 3 feeders and no birds. I think I’ve been black-balled.

Supersimkin2 · 18/03/2022 14:22

Birds have collective memory, Fluffy. There’ll be a mapped detour on the flight path round asbo’s spot for all airborne birds through the next century at least.

Fluffycloudland77 · 18/03/2022 14:27

This is true. It took two years for the local cats to come into our garden again.
