I'm not usually a beard person I mentioned I like short beards and he immediately cut it

Beards remind me of my dad so I dont like them on dh but he still has one.

Two women he worked with have sat him down and explained if something reminds your dw (ooh maybe I'm not dw? ha ha, too late now mate!) of her DAD she wont find it attractive in her dh.

I like a beard on the mature gentleman, me, such as those modelled by artiste and pet lover Keanu Reeves.

Capn gets a cream goatee when he robs my cake, makes him look the academic type.

This is also not my cat and belongs to same neighbour as not my cat1.

I'm fairly new to the Tray and only on book 1 of the Chronicles of Thug Cat. Thank you @Grumpyoldpersonwithcats for brightening up my commute! Been giggling all day over Cat Chess.

Our bathroom is being remodelled and the boxes of sanitary ware and associated stuff are piled in our kitchen. There's a game of "oneupmogship" going on between the felines. Mouse has scaled the highest point and he defended himself against all comers. Hobbes is trying to usurp him.

Well that was an interesting on line meeting. As suspected, I have just been diagnosed with combined type ADHD "with no hesitation or doubts at all" according to the psychiatrist.

Which is a bit of a relief TBH.

How do you feel about that, @Allergictoironing ?

Have they suggested any meds or other actions?

Very relieved @Defiantly41. I can finally tell myself that past behaviours that have adversely affected me weren't because I'm crap, or thick, or useless, or lazy (all things I've been accused of, or accused myself of in the past), but because my brain is wired a bit differently.

They've suggested meds, but currently the waiting list for titration is months and months. He reckoned other methods may not be any use until I have had meds for a bit, as I've sort of "got into the habits" of ADHD for so many years and it would be very hard to break these bahavioural patterns without some help to rebalance my brain chemistry.

Well done you for spotting it yourself, no mean feat. Must be such a relief to get access to a bumper burst of self-knowledge.

You are a very fine person, stop beating yourself up. You are OUR Allergic, and the cats’ Allergic, and we brook no criticism or 3am gloom. Now you can be a bit more your own Allergic too.

Credit should actually go to my DBro. He was diagnosed last year and realised that I probably have it too. Interestingly, until then I hadn't known it's genetic but looking back at my parents they both showed signs (opposite types, DBro & I are both the combined type), and probably my DSis too (same type as our mother)!

I think that's the most important thing about my diagnosis, I no longer have to beat myself up as it's down to wiring & chemistry (phew)

It's nice to find out you're normal for you. Sorry, that sounds weird but there's a lot to be said for not bullying yourself. The world is not always a nice place for ND people. DB was autistic and there's a good possibility both my DPs are too.

As Super said, you're our Allergictoironing and you have cats that love you just as you are.
