I can imagine, stressful too. Fat ginger hug from Capn with extra nose rub and complimentary plumy tailstroke facial. Thinking of you both.

Ollie sends a giant snuggle
Paws.. well. He offered a sympathetic look

Fluffycloudland77 · 11/04/2022 13:58

Puddy will be glad others understand her trauma.

Papergirl1968 · 11/04/2022 13:59

What a fabulous cat handicraft book, Talked Too Much. The person who made the slippers was Japanese too. It must be a thing over there. Smile
Hugs to Fluffy, your DH and poor neglected Puddy.

Supersimkin2 · 12/04/2022 11:22

Howzit going, Grumpy and Mr Fluff.

🧢n is off to vet tomorrow. Dodgy fangs.

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 12/04/2022 12:08

I'm still here thank you. Tested positive again on Sunday morning, so I continue to wander around the house chanting 'unclean, unclean'. (I'm still feeling fine though 👍)
The good news is that neither Mrs Grumpy nor DS2 seem to have picked it up, so DS2 is at hospital as we speak for his minor (toenail) surgery.
Bloody Karl however... He was under the weather again, and this time has bite marks on his neck. Back on antibiotics and metacam. The vet kindly didn't charge us for the injection this time, she said since he'd been in so many times recently she'd let us off GrinShock.

Supersimkin2 · 12/04/2022 12:18

Result with Karl!!! Poor boy tho and poor you - but looking good for Easter with any luck. Ditto DS - was it the infernal agony of ingrown toenail?

Supersimkin2 · 12/04/2022 12:24

This might cheer DS up. Despite sensible shoes, podiatrist etc I had a rudely persistent ingrown toenail for years. Me and the podiatrist got quite good at heading it off at the pass, then lockdown. When naturally one is cleaning and tidying house. Eviscerating a dusty cupboard I dropped a vintage Roberts radio on my foot. An hour of retching and speechlessness - next day toenail went black and fell out, ingrown bit included. Best surgery ever.

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 12/04/2022 12:26

Without wishing to overshare - yes ingrowing toenail (both sides) and oroblems on the other big toe (that had previously been ingrowing).
Both toenails being fully removed today Shock.

JoanOgden · 12/04/2022 13:00

Gosh, my granddad had both big toenails entirely removed as they were ingrowing. I was fascinated by his toenail-less toes and spent ages interrogating him about how they felt, how it had happened etc Grin

YetAnotherSpartacus · 12/04/2022 13:17

Who is beating poor Karl up?

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 12/04/2022 13:21

Who is beating poor Karl up?
We assume it is the grey and white cat we sometimes see, but can't prove it.
Just to confirm I'm sure it's not TC - they occassionally grumble but I've never seen real fighting going on.

Supersimkin2 · 12/04/2022 14:22

Grey and white bastard again?! Bah.

Capns next door cos NDN’s having a sandwich.

Fluffycloudland77 · 12/04/2022 20:29

Well obv it’s not TC. He’s like family to those cats.

Fluffycloudland77 · 12/04/2022 21:34

Puddys being very affectionate for a cat whose had dreamies.

Supersimkin2 · 12/04/2022 21:43

Very emotionally beautiful Fluffy.

NDN had to physically eject Capn 3x this pm and shut the door.

He was found shortly afterwards in her kitchen drinking Havelock’s cream.

She’s now shut the windows.

Fluffycloudland77 · 12/04/2022 21:45

Is your ndn always this unsociable?

Supersimkin2 · 12/04/2022 22:07

Outrageous, isn’t it. And, get this (raw indignation), I sorted Havelock out with my vet after he got that mystery scratch on the nose.

MrOllivander · 12/04/2022 23:37

Paws arrived, ate all the food and left. Charming
I suspect he isn't happy with the peloton taking over the cat room

YetAnotherSpartacus · 13/04/2022 09:46

Havelock has cream?

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 13/04/2022 10:00

Bloody cats - I should have them made into mittens!!! Shock
Crash heard yesterday evening. This was a jug that my mum commissioned for me 30 odd years ago from a local Cotwold potter.
Both mum and potter are long dead. Jug is irreplaceable. It was that little sod Lenny chasing Sybil.
Grrrrrr.

YetAnotherSpartacus · 13/04/2022 10:04

Oh, Grumpy I'm so sorry. I put away all my breakables when mine arrived but that's not a good option either because now I can't see all my precious things and the memories they evoke. I have things belonging originally to my deceased parents too.

Papergirl1968 · 13/04/2022 10:48

Top marks to Cap'n for his determination. There is nowt as single minded as a cat that is shut out.
I'm gutted for you, Grumpy. Could a specialist repair it, I wonder. The cracks would still be noticeable, I guess, but it might be able to be put back together.

Fluffycloudland77 · 13/04/2022 13:11

Mittens is too good for them @Grumpyoldpersonwithcats.
