Talk to me re black cats…

Can you tell me about and show me your black cats please?

My beautiful part bengal died about 4 months ago and we’re getting another kitten in January. We chose a lovely little black kitten. My partner was drawn to him and I know black cats often are the hardest to re home.

Are they as loving as I hear? Mine will probably be an indoor cat (no debates please) will he be tolerable of that?

He's a brother of my black and white cat.

Totally different personality to his brother.

Will not go outside. No reason for this.

Removes himself from everything on Sundays. We have tracked this. He disappears Sunday morning and hides. Does not like to be found or disturbed it's like this is his day to recoup the week.

Hates the dog will not tolerate him at all. His brother loves him.

Won't eat wet food. Only dry.

He's like a monk, living a basic life in every aspect but will rub his head against you for strokes but will not sit on your knee or sleep with us. His brother Sleeps on my head.

He's not aggressive he is literally like a shadow.

But if the dreamies come out he's there.

Three black cats here. 1 velcro, 1 becoming velcro-ish, and one fairly aloof (but he loves DS2).
Enclosed, the pack demanding food with menaces recently.

All with outside access, the two youngsters started trying to escape from about three months old.

This is Nero, a rescued feral cat. In this pic he is aiming to get the Guinness World Record for longest sleeping cat . He loves me, but as you can see he adores sleeping with his dad (DH). Crazy as a box of frogs too, has a thing about clean laundry and steals all my hair ties. He is wonderful.

My baby. He was hilarious as a young cat. Now he is a cranky old man, he's gone full cardigan. But purrs like a demon and still beats up the dog

My black cat is a rescue cat. Totally soppy and a real lap cat. He is also very big and a voracious hunter. Loves hunting in the churchyard. In summer he hunts every single day. Buy would never, ever scratch, claw or show any aggression to us.

My 9 year old black cat is needy and clingy, incredibly territorial so our other cat basically lives next door now BUT he is also so loving and affectionate. He loves to sit in my lap on a chilled weekend morning which I love too ❤

Have had 3 black cats and it would have been black cats forever but DH is now visually impaired and put in a request for different colours as black cats are invisible in the shadows.

I think he steps on our white cat just as much though.

Silkycat likes to burrow under the duvet and sleep in bed with us.

Having almost broken my neck countless times on the stairs because my boy is having a snooze there (rather than on his actual bed

) I can see his point!

I adore my boy. He's my first ever cat and I think he's very handsome. He's very affectionate and has the loudest purr! He's an indoor car and seems very happy.

My boy right now purring extremely loudly! He also snores really loud too. Last week I could hear him snoring in my bedroom which is above my living room over the sound of the TV!

They're no different to any other cat. Affectionate, blessed with very little brain and very demanding if you don't do what they want. But crap at having their photo taken. They also have an unhealthy interest in my laptop, but that's because they want me to stop working and feed/fuss them...

My beautiful girl. She's the loveliest cat in the world and so affectionate. Although, tbf we've had loads of cats over the years, of differing colours, and most have been very friendly and affectionate. I love cats so much.

Two years ago my 18 year old black rescue went over rainbow bridge, he’d been with us since he was 4. So characterful, loving and forever my best boy. I don’t know why black cats are more difficult to rehome.

I have a black Oriental called Whizz - we adore him.

He's very, very chatty though.
