Bless Nemo, bless you all.
So in a nutshell I had a seizure or funny turn or something about three months ago, when I was talking to a friend on the phone, stopped responding, and afterwards was confused and had no memory of it, although I couldn't have lost consciousness as I moved from one room to another and turned the TV off.
GP initially thought it was a TIA but discounted that after a few tests, and sent me for an MRI scan. I had a phone call from the hospital on Friday, then some more information from another GP yesterday. I have a hospital appointment on Monday when I should find out more including whether they're going to operate.
I'm quite frankly terrified!

nettie434 · 05/10/2021 22:05

Oh Papergirl1968, sending you huge good wishes. I sort of feel that they wouldn't have mentioned benign unless they felt very confident it was. It's still such a shock even if (as of course we all hope), it turns out to be benign. Hope Matt, Socks and the dog (sorry dog, I know you must have a name) are showering you with hugs and love tonight xxxx

Defiantly41 · 05/10/2021 22:13

Oh Papergirl, I'm so sorry to hear that. Fingers crossed it is benign (as if there is a "good"'sort of brain tumour). Purrs and licks from the Defiantcat girls

Fluffycloudland77 · 05/10/2021 22:14

What a shock. I’d be terrified too. It’s better to know though, it really is.

Supersimkin2 · 05/10/2021 22:14

Massive furry orange hug darling from me and Capn. >

You must be reeling, what a day and a half for you. Practically entirely curable but I can't imagine in the meantime the symptoms are much fun.

Best love sweetling and try and get some kip. Hand and paw holds here even tho you can't see them.

Supersimkin2 · 05/10/2021 22:26

Christ, the seizure alone must be a worry. And you'll be so tired and wobbly anyway from all that.

Most brain tumours are benign and are removable but the surgeon will check they don't start growing back every year or so. Medicine's a lot farther along than we think about brain tumours.

I am trying to say don't be petrified but you must be so drained and shocked that's probably a really annoying thing to hear - so stick to the basics. Have you had supper. Eat as much as humanly possible.

Do deep breathing to calm yourself down, works altho it's boring and I prefer a fag. Drink tea and gin alternately. Matt & Socks won't care if you're pissed, they might get an extra meal out of you.

The likelihood is that the waiting is the very worst bit of all. You are not alone tho.

NotMyCat · 05/10/2021 22:38

The waiting is definitely the worst bit. Honestly when I was in a&e before my spinal op and they were running round paging neurosurgeons I was just "oh" and even before the op I was calm
It might hit you at some random point when you don't expect it to Thanks

To make you smile my friend got pregnant and was all cool and calm. Then she went shopping for her hospital bag and ended up sobbing in the middle of Tesco that she couldn't keep a plant alive and what was she meant to do with a baby. She has two children now, both still thriving!

NotMyCat · 05/10/2021 22:56

Ollie never does this, he is offering you a paw Smile

Chez Ollie - "Give me your tired, your paw, your purring masses..." - All welcome
Papergirl1968 · 05/10/2021 23:18

Aww, Ollie!
I'm ok. I'm still eating (it takes a lot to put me off my food), sleeping, driving (for now) etc. No symptoms really other than that one episode.
The pets are being a huge comfort.
I'll keep all of lovely ladies posted.

Supersimkin2 · 05/10/2021 23:26

We’re waiting with you ❤️ love

Allergictoironing · 06/10/2021 08:43

Poor Papergirl - cancer diagnosis is a complete shock when the call comes. Remember that there have been phenominal advances in brain surgery in recent years - anyone seen the video (was on QI) of the guy playing the banjo while they operated on his brain??? Shock.

Brain surgery is the oldest known form of surgery too, so they've been practicing a looong time.

YetAnotherSpartacus · 06/10/2021 09:04

Coming in late but all the best, Papergirl Flowers

NotMyCat · 06/10/2021 22:03

Paw paws has been in at 12.45, 14.45 and 21.45 ConfusedHmm
Obviously found his pocket watch again
Ollie got sat on and is fuming, he wouldn't come inside for 3hrs Shock

coastergirl · 06/10/2021 22:36

Ollie was sat on?!

NotMyCat · 06/10/2021 22:40

Oh yes. I stood up from my office chair to reach forward to get a pen and sat back down so seconds
Ollie had jumped onto the chair...
I have been glared at all day and he wouldn't come near me for three hours. He's fine

coastergirl · 06/10/2021 22:44

Haha! Oh dear

NotMyCat · 06/10/2021 22:48

This face is what I have had all day

Papergirl1968 · 06/10/2021 23:08

I initially read it as Paws had sat on Ollie, then realised it was mama.
No wonder he looks pissed off. Grin

coastergirl · 06/10/2021 23:27

Me too @Papergirl1968

sweetkitty · 06/10/2021 23:41

Is this the crazy cat lady and man thread? Can I join? Cats are my thing, other people have shoes and hand bags I have cats. And a large dog who is terrified of the cats.

I have four of the furry terrors
2 fatties brother and sister ginger boy and tortie girl
1 sleek and satanic looking black boy who only likes me
and the grey baby 13 weeks old a furry brainless loon with knives for feet.

Tonight’s antics have included smashing a vase on the utility room window (wasn’t any of them must have been the dog)

Fluffycloudland77 · 07/10/2021 07:20

Aww, poor doggy surrounded by so many cats.

Defiantly41 · 07/10/2021 07:57

Welcome @sweetkitty. You do know there is a tax to pay to join this thread? (Pictures please Smile)

TheLongRider · 07/10/2021 08:08

All cats and their subjects are welcome here.

Where else can you talk about your cat giving you the cold shoulder because you sat on them and be met with sympathy rather than ridicule!

My five have had breakfast and scattered to the four winds. Black girl cat is keeping an eye on DD12 who is slopping around in the Dressing Gown of Doom. She has a stinker of a cold.

I also have a sulking Boycat this morning. No, I didn't sit on him, but possibly even worse. He sneaked up behind me & I didn't notice, and turned on the hairdryer!!! Luckily him being a cat of very little brain, he will be after cuddles within half an hour - his sister wouldn';t talk to me for hours after a similar incident with her.

Justonedayatatime11 · 07/10/2021 09:31

Mine will all be sulking soon. The vet is honouring us with a home visit to do 19 lots of booster jabs Grin
