Orphaned Kitten

Hi, does anyone have any experience with an orphaned kitten? They were found abandoned by their mum, in a friend of a friends garden. This one seems a little behind the others, and I have the time so am happy to help him. I’ve done a lot of reading and a vet has aged him at 5/6 weeks.

Does anyone have any tips? He’s so affectionate, and is bottle feeding at the moment, preparing to be weaned properly. Does anyone recommend a good wet food to make a slurry?

And how can I help him with grooming? He accidentally smooshed a bit of poo on his back legs and stinks but I don’t want to hurt him 😩

When we were socialising our feral foster/rescues, we spent a lot of time wearing hoodies backwards with them in the hood under your chin... another kittenxlady tip! Helps you to get stuff done...

Here is the now 9 month old feral beastie. On my lap for snuggles.

I used a scarf as a sling for mine! He still loves being carried in my arms at 10 months. He weighs a tonne!

Mine likes to get into my dressing gown, I've been known to answer the door looking like a mad woman.

Thankyou all, he is so beautiful isn’t he.

So last night was the night for putting him downstairs on his own. I’m too soft and took him upstairs again, and this morning when he decided it was breakfast time he managed to leap out of his box and visit me in bed 😂.

He will definitely have to be downstairs tonight because if he goes in to the kids in the night they will scream. My DS absolutely adores him but my DD is a bit scared of his claws.

I need to find a kitten food in gravy rather than jelly, I don’t think he likes the jelly 😩

@sashh he’s spent 2 nights downstairs in the dining room so far. I’m not pleased but needs must, he will just escape somewhere he’s not supposed to if he’s upstairs with us 😭

How is Frank?.

Frank is ok, he had a bit of a tumble from the cat tree and came running to me for cuddles. I think he tried to over do himself with the leaping skills!

I’ve added a photo of him in his favourite spot, laying in the sun by the door.

He’s eaten lots and put on even more weight, so hopefully can be wormed and vaccinated soon.

He’s just so cuddly and cute 😍
