I've created a new name for this board, as I've a few irl friends who I don't necessarily want linking comments from other boards...

This is Agatha. She's a Bengal / Savannah cross and very shouty. I've had her 3 weeks, and she hasn't let me touch her yet. She's nearly 2 years old, and wasn't socialised in her last place (bought to be a queen, but it didn't work out). Getting her into the carrier for her first visit to the vets on Monday could be interesting..... Smile

Ollie is whinging for England today
It's freezing and windy so no, I'm not sitting with the window open so he can prance in and out. Every time I open it, he runs off Confused then shouts for me to open it
Has food and water, refusing to nap and wandering the house whining like an overtired toddler Hmm

Supersimkin2 · 11/03/2021 12:13

Heya lady welcome 🙏

Supersimkin2 · 11/03/2021 12:14

@TheLongRider is that tiny Nemo? Saucy beans!

FatCatThinCat · 11/03/2021 12:18

My cats are arseholes. The young one pretended he was dying this weekend which has cost us around £400 in vets fees but now he's fine and dancing round the bedroom keeping us awake at 4.00 am. The other one has taken to sleeping in the drawer under the bed and snoring, loudly. Between the pair of them I'm bloody knackered.

swampytiggaa · 11/03/2021 12:21

@ShoutyCatSlave Agatha is stunning! Good luck with the vets 😊

Gomez and Wednesday are having a strenuous day 😂😂

Leroy is guarding the diary and the To Do pad. Clearly I am not permitted to do anything today.

Shame.

Agatha! My, a match for TC.

Reminds me, has anyone heard from Just?

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 11/03/2021 15:49

YesItsMeIDontCare very impressed by Leroy's fluffy feet.

And yes Agatha definitely looks as if she'd give TC a run for his money. Grin

Fluffycloudland77 · 11/03/2021 15:58

Leroy has a “you need a day off” look on his face.

Who on earth thought crossing a sav with a Bengal was a good idea? It’s mental to cross two active breeds like that. She’s got Siamese dna too off the Bengal side, they used Siamese to get the blue eyes in snow lynx bengals. My condolences to your house 😀.

ShoutyCatSlave · 11/03/2021 15:59

She's actually very small / skinny but with long legs (her Savannah half), but very loud and shouty. I bribed her with Dreamies to get her into the living room.....

She is exquisite.

Fluffycloudland77 · 11/03/2021 16:55

Oh she’s a beauty alright, looking into those eyes must be like seeing the colour of the sky in heaven.

hippychick11 · 11/03/2021 17:09

@ShoutyCatSlave what a beauty Cake

QueenPaw · 11/03/2021 17:19

Peace and quiet for 5 minutes. I went for a nap the other day and he let me sleep for 17 minutes before screeching at me he was starving Grin

I'm in hospital (day 25) every time I call home my cat appears and jumps on their knee and starts biting the phone to "release me".

She is a real lap cat, but as a kitten wild I tamed the feral and fear out of her with lots of cuddles.

Fluffycloudland77 · 11/03/2021 19:00

@FatCatThinCat at least the young cat chose the no council tax month to pretend to be dying.

Hello, after the helpful advice yesterday re post-op jackets and strange behaviour, I'm back for some advice if that's ok!

Kitty was spayed yesterday and she settled eventually last night with the post op jacket on. She slept ok and was purring a bit this morning, seemed generally ok until mid morning but as the day had gone on she has become really lethargic and isn't moving around much or eating much, no purring. She is sitting on me and I can move her off me and she will just sit wherever I put her - usually she will get up and re settle herself where she deems acceptable rather than where I have decided to put her. We have her a break from the jacket for a wash and stretch but she wasn't that bothered about having it on or off and didn't make a fuss when it went back on. All very unusual.

Are they usually out of sorts for a few days after this op? She doesn't yelp in pain when I pick her up, she just doesn't seem to care about anything. She has eaten a bit and done a couple of wees.

Vet nurse said if she is eating and doesn't seem to be in significant pain she is probably ok. But she really does seem miserable. She was also quivering a bit just now - like the feel of purring but no sound and she is usually a loud kitty when she purrs. So I wondered if she was anxious or shivering with a temp??

Maybe this is all normal but any help appreciated!

Thanks

Fluffycloudland77 · 11/03/2021 19:19

I’d ring the vets, they usually perk up fairly quickly. Lethargy never good.

I'd say you could be in for a similar experience to me earlier this week. God forbid I try to touch Tom. He'll eat a treat out of my hand but that's the extent of contact allowed.
swampytiggaa · 11/03/2021 20:28

@seriouslynonames I’d call the vets. Two of mine split their internal stitches and one got an infection from it. Cleared up with another (expensive) op and antibiotics

ShoutyCatSlave · 11/03/2021 20:33

She's feeling very sorry for herself at the moment. Has gone into season, in a strange house, with a strange slave. And has been banished from places with carpet (upstairs) as she's marking with wee to attract a male. I have no idea how long it'll last, but hopefully the vet can schedule a neuter after her check-up.
