@YetAnotherSpartacus just for you
@Allergictoironing no, she's a chocolate Havana. Losing Darcy well and truly pushed me over the edge, and the abuse I received afterwards from her breeder has only served to make me determined never to have anything to do with the Suffolk breed ever again.

That’s awful @Justonedayatatime11, it just shows how little breeders think of cats when they don’t understand you’re grieving. The kittens very cute. I’m sure Charlie’s paw just slipped accidentally as he went in for a paw-bump.

@ShoutyCatSlave I’m sure there’s a flea tablet available for cats off the vet. You can warm the vial in your bra to bring it up to body temp so it’s less of a shock when you put it on.

ShoutyCatSlave · 27/04/2021 22:33

Ooo, I may have to investigate tablets. She's not hugely food motivated, but she does like tuna and chicken, so there are ways! 😃. I've only been close enough to touch her twice, and they were bundling her into her carrier to get her to the vets!

Papergirl1968 · 27/04/2021 22:49

Matt says thank you everyone for the birthday wishes. That tummy, Lana! I want to bury my face in it.
Well done, Allergic and Grumpy.
Lovely to see you back, Just, and what a beautiful kitten!
I hope Alfonso has turned up now.

coastergirl · 28/04/2021 07:09

Charlie 😍

Supersimkin2 · 28/04/2021 07:40

Yahoo!!! Just!!! Welcome back with added garlands!!!

That Bad Breeder is a psycho, we could tell from here. What a beauty your new babe is. Love and strokes to Charlie.

YetAnotherSpartacus · 28/04/2021 09:16

Yes! Charlie - he is such a handsome boy! Thank you for the photo. The new kitty is gorgeous too. Something about her mouth suggests she may be a shouty one and eventually put Charlie in his place.

The breeder who sold you darling Darcy was a bit dodgy all along I think.

QueenPaw · 28/04/2021 09:31

Ollie says welcome back Just! He's having his pedicure hence the weird pose

Congratulations Grumpy! I do hope that the TC photos don't dwindle in number though!

Fluffycloudland77 · 28/04/2021 12:18

Mrs Grumpy can take over as TC press secretary. There’s no pay and a certain level of violence is to be expected but someone’s got to do it.

YetAnotherSpartacus · 28/04/2021 12:23

Yes, I agree. TC's many fans cannot be disappointed. And the Grumpy Offspring can also assist. His fans demand it.

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 28/04/2021 12:32

All,
Many thanks for alk your good wishes Smile.
The good news is that I will be working from home 95% of the time, so TC updates are still on rhe cards. I couldn't outsource the updates to Mrs Grumpy anyway - she is far too sensible to indulge in this kind of frivolity Grin.
Irritatingly, I had another job offer this morning, paying significantly more than the one I've accepted. Can't let down the person who offered me the first job though.

Bloody typical, 2 years without a job then two turn up at the same time...
Enclosed is a TC head scritch for the sake of his fans.

Can you do a teensy bit of job2? A big bag of cats don’t feed themselves. Keeps your employers happy eh.

TC would be the first to agree. And the humans would be pleased too.

Allergictoironing · 28/04/2021 20:10

Can you do a teensy bit of job2?

If they are anything like when I used to work on contracts, poor Grumpy will be flat out anyway. My contracts would always cite things like "a professional 8 hour day" which basically meant minimum 40 hours a week plus any more it may take to get the job done. I was reasonably lucky with my contracts, rarely went over about 45-48 hours (plus the commute ofc).

Got a start date now, 11th May Smile

QueenPaw · 28/04/2021 20:25

Olllllllieeeee you coming out to play?

Supersimkin2 · 28/04/2021 20:38

I get you @Allergic but turning down better paying clients would annoy me more than a couple of extra hours.

Supersimkin2 · 28/04/2021 20:40

Yay to May 11 - plenty of r and r before then.

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 29/04/2021 07:43

Allergic is correct in her assumption. Both contracts are FT (plus).

The situation is also slightly complex. Hmm
Person A who offered me the first role, used to work for me in the dim and distant past.

I've previously worked for person B (who has come up with the second role), and so has person A.
To clarify the two roles are entirely independent in completely different organisations.
Anyway - since I had already accepted person A's offer I won't renege on it and let her down.

Mildly irritating but ho-hum.

The cats (and the DSs) will be fed either way Grin

Supersimkin2 · 29/04/2021 08:13

You are a man of honour Grumpy. As well as remarkable bravery and persistence with a photographic project that has already guaranteed you immortality.

I fear your true calling is that of The Artist.

If it was me I would have called Person A and grumbled re my dilemma, hint of vet bills., and they’d have shrieked in recognition and twiddled it so both jobs got done. But my job’s not 9-5. It’s amazing some of it’s even paid at all any more, now I think about it. The deal would be signed with a snap of Capn, obv, and confirmed with a selfie of a kitten in sunglasses. Professionals to the fingertips, editors.

Allergictoironing · 29/04/2021 08:17

How very incestuous! But totally understand, many contracts are gained through past work. The weirdest can be the situation you're in - working for ex-staff and vice versa, but you sort of get used to it as long as you both respect each other.

Boycat had his annual MoT and jabs yesterday. He cried piteously all the way there & peed in the crate in the car (luckily had a towel in there). Didn't cry much on the journey home though like he usually does, so either he's getting a bit better about things or he lost his voice after the trip there.

Girlcat's turn on Friday afternoon - it was supposed to be her yesterday, but she was under my bed so I just grabbed the convenient one. It's going to be "fun", because I have my 2nd jab booked for 3 hours before her appointment and last time I did react a bit.

Poor boy cat - being reduced to 'the convenient one' :)

NowYouListenToMeFella · 29/04/2021 10:58

Congrats on the job offers grumpy. I love the TC thread.

Tom made it to the vet on Tuesday. That stress is over for another three months. Got the sad cat face in the car on way home.

Fluffycloudland77 · 29/04/2021 11:37

Oh dear, that’s a look full of emotion. Has he recovered?.

NowYouListenToMeFella · 29/04/2021 11:59

He was delighted when he got into the house and realised he was home. Don't know where he thought he was going. Ate his breakfast and moseyed out.

nettie434 · 29/04/2021 14:35

The good news is that I will be working from home 95% of the time

Very relieved that we will still be able to get regular updates about TC. The other positive about working at home is that Grumpy is less likely to get into a spat with TC if Grumpy needs to go out and TC has spread himself out on the yellow car.

I did not realise you were an editor Supersimkin2. No wonder your posts are beautifully written, concise, and witty.

That is a very sad face NowYouListenToMeFella. Glad Tom cheered up when he got home.

Good luck at the vet's tomorrow with Girlcat, Allergic!
