He is such a beautiful boy Super.

I got shouted at this morning. 6:24am 🙄

Fluffycloudland77 · 21/03/2021 12:26

06:24? A lie in then.

I would not object to the captain waking me up with a face like that.

QueenPaw · 21/03/2021 12:29

Ollie is refusing to eat, paws is refusing to come in. Anyone want two weirdo cats?

I had Sunday morning Kloppy kuddles too ♥️

However I have been a bad cat mum this week Blush I mistakenly picked up a six-pack of Butchers dog food and berated dcat1 for turning her nose up at it (dcats 2-4 scoffed it but looked slightly confused). I did fleetingly wonder why the chunks were so much bigger than usual and then I spotted the picture of a dog on the label Shock

I redeemed myself this morning by serving John West mackerel fillets on china plates Grin

Fluffycloudland77 · 21/03/2021 21:44

It’s very easily done, same colour can.

Any more paddling @QueenPaw?.

QueenPaw · 21/03/2021 22:56

No paddling but flatly refusing to eat more than a mouthful of food. He's playing/whining/cuddling as usual so I'm trying not worrying

Papergirl1968 · 21/03/2021 23:01

Nothing better than snuggling a cat in bed.
Socks is like a little ghost cat in the daytime, but at night she cuddles up against me, on my right side. We shuffle across the bed in the night, so I end up on the left edge, and she's right in the middle. Occasionally she'll be between my feet, which I've obligingly moved apart in my sleep to make a Socks sized gap.
I guess that despite the aches and pains, the walked on boobs, and the wailing at ungodly hours, we should be honoured they love and trust us to keep them safe. Smile

TheSunIsStillShining · 22/03/2021 09:04

For a week now we have left our kitten alone for the night. She has the living room and hallway (large and full of her toys in a plastic tub) and all room doors are closed.

Every night we have a routine of saying "bedtime" and "good night" but that doesn't seem to stick. She still meows very lightly for about 40 sec and then cuddles next to the bedroom door on the fav blanket.
compared to how afraid we were that she'll meow all night, hurt herself, do something bad, etc... it's going almost smoothly.

And she has grown sooooo much. She now looks as a "normal" grown cat by size, yet is on 4 months old. 2.2kg already.

And a pic from yesterday, on the rare occasion she gets to come up on my desk. And as per her breed manual: she "flows" down from every surface :)

I have to take Grumpy Grandma to the vet's this afternoon for her anual health check and vaccinations. Not looking forwards to it. She's so angry and aggressive and getting her into the box may well result in bloodshed. The vet doesn't believe she's aggressive as once she's there she'll be the sweetest, gentlest cat you've ever met. Until we get home and then the slashing starts again. Grin

FatCatThinCat · 22/03/2021 14:29

Right, I'm going in. If I don't report back, send help!

Fluffycloudland77 · 22/03/2021 14:43

Or pull up a chair with popcorn. They never learn the box isn’t a method of torture do they? Anyone would think you routinely bash them over the head with the carrier the way they perform.

FatCatThinCat · 22/03/2021 15:40

As expected, near death experience to get her in the box and then butter wouldn't melt mode while at the vets. You can't even see the blood on her claws.

Well done! Are you ok?

FatCatThinCat · 22/03/2021 15:59

Yeah, I'm fine. Got her in without bloodshed this time. Had to move like lightning so she picked up, in the box, door closed before she had chance to react. I felt like I was having a heart attack from the stress of it though. Last time I needed antibiotics! Grin

FatCatThinCat · 22/03/2021 16:00

Got to take the other one on Thursday but he's like a giant furry pudding who'll do anything for a few dreamies.

QueenPaw · 22/03/2021 16:25

Ollie is going tomorrow for his steroid jab and a claw clip. He threw up today, I think he knows

YesItsMeIDontCare · 22/03/2021 17:30

Glad you survived FCTC!

I have one of those maths questions for you all!

If a woman starts cooking chicken pasta bake on a low-medium heat at 5:15pm, how long will it be 'til her cat appears by her ankles swearing blind he hasn't eaten for a week? Bear in mind the fact that said cat is on the chubby side and was fast asleep upstairs at 5:12pm. Answers to the nearest second 😁

FatCatThinCat · 22/03/2021 17:49

4.45 pm ie the moment you moved off the sofa wondering what you'd do for dinner.

YesItsMeIDontCare · 22/03/2021 18:12

Ah - I meal plan. I knew what I was doing for dinner tonight on Saturday 😁.

5:15pm was the time I opened the fridge to get the chicken out.

FatCatThinCat · 22/03/2021 18:17

5.14 pm then as the cat had put it in their diary with a reminder set.

YesItsMeIDontCare · 22/03/2021 18:44

You're probably close!

I got the chicken out the fridge, reached for the cutting board, opened chicken and tipped it out, turned round to put the packaging in the recycling bin... and tripped over Leroy.

I swear to god it was no more than 30 seconds 😮

Fluffycloudland77 · 22/03/2021 19:12

I do a monthly online shop for meat and fish & portion it up to freeze. Asbo would be asleep on our bed but would jump down seconds after I’d pierced the film lid on the chicken breast chunks so he could lap the chicken juices up 🤮.

He’d only eat Waitrose chicken juice, emergency supplies of Aldi chicken would earn me a look.

YesItsMeIDontCare · 22/03/2021 19:36

I never thought of offering chicken juice. I might do that next time, save me rinsing the tray out.

We're common, we have Tesco's.

Allergictoironing · 22/03/2021 19:38

Gods I've had a stressy weekend!

Friday a woman stopped me as a wandered round the town centre (Covid Information Officer me), in the main shopping pedestrian zone, and asked me to have a look at a guy on a bench as he seemed unconscious. Went over to find him propped up against the arm completely unresponsive with no smell of alcohol. Immediately called for an ambulance & a couple of people there helped & got him lying on the bench, one of which suggested diabetic coma.

Police came by just then, so of course all the passers by were stopping & staring, coming close & asking us what was going on, so I went on "crowd control" duty. So many people though that the police called for backup just to keep the rubberneckers away, then when the ambulance arrived closed of that stretch of street. People STILL kept trying to go round the tapes, so more crowd control for me (the power of a council branded hi vis vest!). Eventually he got loaded on the ambulance, & just before I left I was told yes diabetic coma, another 30 mins or so he probably would have died, but he was recovering now.

Then Saturday I was propositioned by a repulsive drunk guy, and later he tried to expose himself to me. Luckily this was in front of witnesses in their regular hang out place, so reported to police when I saw them on Sunday, then spent half of today (my only day a week off) giving statements etc to the police.

Luckily I'm not the type to be phased by that kind of thing, but a) many women are and b) this was right by the main bus stops, so during the week there would have been crowds of kids there.

I really don't want to work tomorrow - not because I'm upset or distressed, but I'm plain knackered after all that!
