Suddenly lovely cat... I am suspicious

My 2 1/2 year old boy has always been lovely but independent, a bit wild and not very cuddly (I posted not to long ago about getting sod all but dead mice from him).

The past couple of weeks he has become my little shadow, constantly purring, sitting on my lap whenever he can and tapping my leg for attention (I nearly cried when he did that).

He's my first ever cat I've had from a kitten so I don't know if this is just something that happens? Is he emerging from the terrible twos into lovely soppy boy or does he just want something from me?

Here he is staring at me until I stroke him.

You’re totally pregnant or he’s had a chat with some other cats and realised he has a good life

Mine is like this. Stalks around ignoring me and then will suddenly become very cuddly and affectionate. I have no idea what promotes the changes in mood. Make the most of it!

He is likely just using you, has discovered he likes cuddles most likely.

I suspect it was because you were property of the other cat

two of my more aloof cats have been really snuggly lately too. I thought it was because of the snow and they were happy to be indoors and fed, but the snows gone and theyre still being nice

Our boy was always a lovely friendly "next to" cat until he reached 11 and was ill he recovered and thereafter be some Mr I Love Your Lap Mum Cat.

This is what I was hoping. I've only ever adopted adult cats and their personality is just there, I've never had one from a kitten.

He's still a wildman, but a nicer one 😂
