Suddenly lovely cat... I am suspicious

My 2 1/2 year old boy has always been lovely but independent, a bit wild and not very cuddly (I posted not to long ago about getting sod all but dead mice from him).

The past couple of weeks he has become my little shadow, constantly purring, sitting on my lap whenever he can and tapping my leg for attention (I nearly cried when he did that).

He's my first ever cat I've had from a kitten so I don't know if this is just something that happens? Is he emerging from the terrible twos into lovely soppy boy or does he just want something from me?

Yes @DrinkFeckArseGirls @Liquorishtoffee

Boy cat is a particularly violent baker.

I've never heard it called biscuits before......

My girl cat largely ignored us for about 14 years. Then turned into a nibbly purry cuddle monster. Now the darling thing spends most of her time in the lap od DS aged 11.

QueenPaw · 27/02/2021 13:00

Not biscuits. He's tenderising you WinkGrin

Gatekeeper · 27/02/2021 13:11

Grin @QueenPaw proper laughed out loud at that

QueenPaw · 27/02/2021 13:20

Grin mine kneads me but he genuinely is the worlds softest cat. Even cats protection are Hmm at him because he actively demands hugs and kisses

ExtraordinaryQuince · 27/02/2021 17:23

Must remember to read threads properly - was about to judge OP for letting her toddler play with dead mice! Grin

OP you're so lucky. Our cat was from next door and living over here and the people next door decided to give her and her kittens away away so we took them all. She was an absolute dream and so snuggly and now she acts like we beat her- ducking away and cowering. She is a bit better since the weather has improved but in general darts all over the place and if inside wants to be out, outside wants to be in. Never content any more. Yay to your cat's change of heart!!!

He's back on bad cat form. Think he brought a mouse in last night and let it go under the kitchen units. Have had to bait a mousetrap and put it in a shoebox, held down with DP's weights.

Looks really pleased with himself.

Cheddar does the same. She demands to be picked up and cuddled. I've met some soppy cats, but she's the soppiest!

@JorisBonson

He is also enjoying singing me the song of his people.
MIne does that. All bloody night.

But we forgive her because she's nearly blind and a bit confused in her old age.

Today DH and I were wondering what the cats would do if we were to pass out or die on the floor. Boy cat was in a particularly nice mood today so I lay still on the bedroom floor to see what he'd do.

He closed the door into my head.

I suspect t they would eat us. I'm sure the girls were trying to suffocate me last night.

Liquorishtoffee · 03/03/2021 20:57

I’ve always said that if you were to become incapacitated - your cat would eat your face. It’s who they are...

JorisBonson · 03/03/2021 22:33

Now just sitting here all jaunty like.

He had about an hour of "oh my god I love you so much I could burst" today and now he's back to indifference, tinged with hatred.

Suddenly lovely cat... I am suspicious
