Bugger that must have hurt @QueenPawPaws.

I see you the stairs and raise you a stabbing. Once I 'spent too long on the phone' and DB, bored, inserted the kitchen scissors up to the hilt in right ankle. Snap.

DM felt it would be 'common' to seek medical assistance for an inter-family shanking. This is South London, after all.

School nurse sorted it, bless her, I think they wrote to DM. I hope your DM had the same Grin

Friend of DS1 made us facemasks. I choose this one (by getting in first Grin)

Lovely mask Grumpy Smile

There was the time I mis-stepped onto a broken kerb stone & "fell" off it, turning my ankle badly in the process. Father inspected it & decreed it was a sprain. When I went for an X-ray a few years later on the same ankle (riding fall) I was told off for not telling them about the previous break I'd had there.

Give him his due, he was just as cavalier about his own injuries. One in particular was when he badly cut the palm of his hand at the base of his thumb on some glass buried in the soil when gardening. He dismissed any suggestions it should be looked at by a doctor and bandaged it up. About a week later he caught it on something and it exploded with about a pint of pus going everywhere, so he DID let me take him for an anti tetanus jab after that Hmm

Fluffycloudland77 · 14/01/2021 17:08

I’m glad I’m an only child now @Supersimkin2. Private hospitals ought to have a minor injuries unit for more middle class patients to seek care.

Supersimkin2 · 14/01/2021 19:17

DM and DF always go private, DC often went NHS cos we were so ill by the time we got there it was Casualty or straight on the slab Grin Stiff Upper lip standards have changed in England since the 70s, apparently.

DB had karma for that stabbing. He went to Sweden for a swanky meeting at the HQ of a well known furniture company. Sat down, threw up, passed out. Came to on a series of brightly coloured beanbags, with serene Swedes mopping his brow and telling him he 'just needed time out in the chillax room'.

He crawled off the beanbag and into the car drove himself still doubled up to local A&E who removed what was left of his appendix. Came to again being handed a leaflet titled 'You may now resume Extreme Sports'. He was refused a cup of tea.

Stiff Upper Lip standards remain robust in Scandinavia.

Fluffycloudland77 · 14/01/2021 19:22

I do not want to move to Sweden after reading that.

Supersimkin2 · 14/01/2021 19:43

@Fluffycloudland77 what about a rattan headboard? Not only the very cutting edge of chic, half price in Zara.

Fluffycloudland77 · 14/01/2021 20:17

I believe rattans virtually cat proof too.

It is traditional for me to find what I want after searching for far longer than it ought to take, try and find it cheaper then go back to the original website to find it sold out. It is the way of things here 😀.

swampytiggaa · 14/01/2021 20:18

This is my furniture destroyer - she’s shredding the dining chairs one by one.

Randomly or does she have a system going?.

@Fluffycloudland77

Randomly or does she have a system going?.
She’s had a go at all of them but is currently concentrating on one in particular. I’ll take a photo tomorrow to show the damage.

Paws will be giving you a 5 Airbnb review*

The owner of Chez Ollie's Place is kind of OK, and mostly friendly, but he whacked me sometimes with his paw, laughed at me and complained when I slept on the beds I surely paid for. Plus he has the loudest yowl and tends to chew his own fur. He's a bit of a weirdo, to be honest.

The housekeeping woman is lovely though. She really made me feel at home. The food and drink options she provided were amazing, the beds were very comfy and it was never too late or early for her to come to reception to allow me entry or egress.

Paws.

Rating (would be a 5 except for the weirdo owner).

Supersimkin2 · 15/01/2021 08:23

Grin @YetAnotherSpartacus

Capn's learned to mew for breakfast while still asleep. I think he senses dawn breaking through his closed eyelids.

Bit tired today.

Are his owners still around? We’d have been in bits if Asbo had stayed out overnight. We wouldn’t have gone to bed until he was in.

QueenPawPaws · 15/01/2021 09:16

@Fluffycloudland77 not sure. He's shut out at night though

Grin the Chez Ollie rating YetAnotherSpartacus!

The owner's lack of social distancing as he sniffs visitors' tails could also be a negative.

swampytiggaa · 15/01/2021 09:32

@Fluffycloudland77 two of Morticia’s current projects for you to admire. Tbh the other 4 chairs aren’t much better 😂😂

I caught Sybil -the little sod-- scratching our record sleeves recently. She obviously normally does it when we aren't looking.
