Nemo is doing the typical cat thing of checking his territory in a spiral pattern. He sniffed all around the back garden, then came back in, he did the same out the front and to the houses immediately on either side. If a seagull squawked as it flew overhead, he came back in. If he spotted a dog on the other side of the green, he hid under a car or shot back into the house. His eyes have been on stalks since we let him out.
Yesterday and today he only really spent about 90 minutes outside. He was knackered for the rest of the day. He's not allowed out after dark.
We live in a fairly quiet cul de sac but with a busy major road out the back. Our cats seem happy enough to stay this side of the wall. It's a well established suburban area with plenty of mature gardens to hide in and plenty of other cats in the neighbourhood.
Hobbes is patrolling with Nemo and our other cats are keeping an eye on him too. Also the weather has been perfect, calm and dry so plenty of scent around with no wind to disorient him.
We just have to trust him as we do with all of our cats.
