Little bugger managed to make it the garden at the bottom with Dexter (the one with the nasty spikes) but got frightened when the bloke opened the door

We have a Cotswold stone wall on our side and neighbour had put up a fence their side but it had to be stepped back from the wall. It also slopes side to side so there is a nice gap between wall and fence and under the fence at one end

Guess who's been filling in the gap

Oldraver · 08/11/2020 09:58

So Col had half an hour in the garden before Dexter came a calling and he was so calm just taking all the smells in

He just come in after Dexter time all fired up and had jumped on the banister

He's lovely drspouse. We have a jet black girl cat who has earned her keep tonight consoling DD after a nightmare.

He is gorgeous but he's definitely a night owl, er, cat. DCs are quite disappointed!

drspouse · 10/11/2020 13:39

Finished Old Black Magic by Ace Atkins which is a Spenser novel (Boston PI, original series by Robert B Parker). I do think the author has captured the spirit of the old series but Spenser and Susan Silverman appear not to have aged at all since the 1970s. At least they have a new dog. I think this is 32 overall but Goodreads is telling me I've read 33 this year so who knows.

Oh no, wrong thread!

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 13/11/2020 17:42

I find it very odd that Basil and Sybil are much more playful than the 'kittens'. Basil was on form today trying to catch a shopping receipt (while sitting on the kitchen table...)

Colin woke us at 6am running up and down the stairs with his favourite wand, which is wood and seems to make extra clatter especially when dragged through the metal bits of the bed. OH left the bedroom door open so usually he wouldn't have access to downstairs until we he gets us get up.

And...the date has been set for his de bollocking

drspouse · 14/11/2020 23:15

He's on the bed leaving me little space but this is only the second time he's got on so I'm loathe to disturb him. He's also trying very hard to scratch off his new collar. I want to tell him he's an amateur and Old Cat had hers off by some mysterious outdoor method within hours, twice, but we want him to wear a reflective one for safety so I'm not giving him any clues.

TheLongRider · 14/11/2020 23:50

I wish you a peaceful night. It's like going through babyhood and hoping they'll sleep through the night.

We have a black cat too who is expert at removing her collars. I've given up trying to keep them on her and we live in suburbia. So far she hasn't used up all of her nine lives.

I saw Haribo through the bedroom window making a dash home in between the rain showers. I went downstairs to let him in and as I opened the back door I saw him launch himself at the bird feeder and nearly caught a starling. I screeched at him and dragged him inside. I've told my DP that either we get rid of the cat or he does something about the bird feeder. The birds are now going to have to starve. Smile

TroysMammy · 15/11/2020 15:40

Forgot to mention, that's the first time he's gone for a bird and it is going to be his last (hopefully).

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 16/11/2020 16:16

Sybil"s latest (very helpful) sleeping place.

I'm living dangerously by tempting Basil to attack my finger. Ah well, it all adds a little frisson to life Grin.

He's dragged it under the settee and keeps going back to it

Introduced to a brush - he sheds a lot unlike Old Cat. Decided he liked it and that I wasn't doing it hard enough so he'd bite me. Bad cat.

Oldraver · 22/11/2020 09:13

Well when I bought the Advent I also got a Col the cat Christmas tree decoration, and forgot it was in the same bag

Col thinks it's his and had mangled its ear

You weren't actually hoping for a quiet life were you Oldraver?

Because I don't think you are going to get one.

Oldraver · 22/11/2020 10:09

I'll ask Santa for a quiet life but not sure if Ive been good enough Grin

I'm hoping that Col will calm down after his 'little op' in time for Chrismas

Though DS has been sent home from school to isolate for 14 days so we're dreading him getting the lurgy

Oldraver · 22/11/2020 10:13

Col says he's no trouble at all but all this waking the slaves at 3.30am is tiring

Col needs to grow into those legs :)

Agree wholheartedly with Spartacus.
Always thought that gangly adolescent kittens are really cute Grin.
