First time kitten owner & I am shocked!

At how easy her transition has been! We have had her 3 days now, she hasn't had one single accident - as a dog owner this really shocked me, she just goes in her litter tray and that's it, no training, no puppy pads, no standing in the yard coaching it to go and then cheering when it does lol. She just knows where she goes and that's it!

She is eating great, loves cuddles, loves our dog and is just such a playful little ball of fur. She is so calm and docile (I was expecting her to be hissing at us and climbing up curtains - although it's still early days) ahhh I just love her

I've always been a dog person but this little kitten has just brought me so much joy and I just cant believe how easy she has been so far! I woke up today and was instantly in a good mood just knowing I get to snuggle the little cutesy all day Grin I think I've been converted to a complete cat lover!

I can see why you are obsessed with her 😍

m00rfarm, sadly, those cats probably don't have homes. They're most likely strays who are intact. See if there's a trap and neuter programme in your area or a cat rescue. I really think governments in every country should step in and have a countrywide trap and neuter programme. Stray & feral cats have dreadful lives. Sorry you're having a bad time.

Here's another little photo....because LOOK at her paws! Just look at them!

Your little kitten is so cute! I would just want to spend all day cuddling and playing with her, hehe.

Oh she is gorgeous! I no longer have any cats, last one died just before lockdown, bless him. Now I have mice or a mouse (i caught one early this morning and put it out). At the moment there are two humane mouse traps baited and placed where mouse can see them and investigate. It's quite a sweet, cheeky little thing. I'm not scared of them but of course I don't want to be overrun and it would be much happier living under the shed at the bottom of the garden.

I could really do with a cat, only the bravest mouse would have chosen to live in our house at one time.

Your kitten is adorable!

So cute. I had a kitten years ago that would climb up my legs and up my back and purr into my hair. I miss my cats.

JELLYBEANS!!!

Catsrus · 13/06/2020 07:54

@Lorddenning1 in my experience (13 cats, 10 female 3 male) my males have been MUCH soppier, very affectionate, ironically more accepting of new kittens than their sisters were!

KITNEY BEANS!!!1!

We got our kitten a day before she was 12 weeks and (unlike previous kittens where they've clearly left too early) we have had literally zero accidents, she grooms herself beautifully and she's a long haired breed too. Her mummy trained her well. She is so affectionate but again I think that's partly the breed (ragdoll/raggamuffin)

My two scraggy old alley cats aren't impressed with her over exuberance. Our old boy was definitely alpha and when he died the other two haven't quite re-established the hierarchy so there's a bit of a power struggle going on right now.

The only issues we've had with Coco is that when she's now reaching puberty she's desperate to go out and can be a bit wild but our vets are not spaying at the moment. I've been taking her out in the garden for little walks.
