First time kitten owner & I am shocked!

At how easy her transition has been! We have had her 3 days now, she hasn't had one single accident - as a dog owner this really shocked me, she just goes in her litter tray and that's it, no training, no puppy pads, no standing in the yard coaching it to go and then cheering when it does lol. She just knows where she goes and that's it!

She is eating great, loves cuddles, loves our dog and is just such a playful little ball of fur. She is so calm and docile (I was expecting her to be hissing at us and climbing up curtains - although it's still early days) ahhh I just love her

I've always been a dog person but this little kitten has just brought me so much joy and I just cant believe how easy she has been so far! I woke up today and was instantly in a good mood just knowing I get to snuggle the little cutesy all day Grin I think I've been converted to a complete cat lover!

I have just moved house. One of the reasons was becuase one of the local cats comes in through the terrace doors, pisses on my curtains, in cupboards, on bags on sofas etc. And if the doors are shut it pisses on my patio furiture cushions. I live in Portugal. I have been in my new house two nights. I slept with the bedroom doors open last night. This morning I wake up to the smell of cat piss. A cat came in the night and pissed up my curtains. I hate cats more than you can possibly believe. I am sure this cat is a little darling at home as well. But you have no idea what they get up to when they leave your house. I am sure you would not be happy if your own cat pissed on your furniture and curtains. Imagine how it feels to have someone else's cat doing it. And you have no idea who even owns the cat.

www.flatcats.co.uk/door-screens-flat-cats.php Would these help you?.

My Bengal got a lot of urine infections and soiled inside. My house is being waterproofed, gradually.

@clientlistqueens he's the same size as Cheddar and shes tiny. I also thought Ollie was a big boy!

Toddlerteaplease · 11/06/2020 14:05

He must have small car syndrome! Cheddar definitely has that.

BinkyBoinky · 11/06/2020 14:38

Awww she's beautiful! I adore tabbies the most!

EngagedAgain · 11/06/2020 15:09

@Lorddenning1

I've had more experience with males, parents had two, I one and two girls, but over the years since I lost mine had numerous males pop round to see me! Can't say there's been a great difference. Think getting a bad cat is down to bad luck, and I think in the main most are generally good.

Imcrapwithusernames · 11/06/2020 15:16

@m00rfarm our cat will be a house cat as there are a few terrier dogs in our street and like you say i wouldnt it being a nuisance to the neighbours

Cute!!

YesItsMeIDontCare · 11/06/2020 16:58

Teeny-weeny Ollie! 🥰

He packs a lot of purrsomeality in to that little frame.

crimsonlake · 11/06/2020 17:04

Gorgeous, but do not be lulled in to a false sense of security.
Mine is 14 months now and is showing no signs of stopping being a hurricane tearing around the house attacking anything that moves or even does not.
She is a calico cat and I am wondering if that is anything to do with it.

WiryTail · 11/06/2020 17:06

We have 3 orphaned kittens. They have been with us just over 2 weeks.
On day 2 they were using a tray and not doing it all over the place.

Meet Wilson and Nessa. He's 2 and she's 12 weeks. The pair of them are little buggers who tear around the house leaving a trail of destruction. Today, Nessa learnt how to jump on the kitchen work surfaces so we can't leave the window open for Wilson. He's getting fat because he keeps nicking the kitten food. She adores him. She's currently under my legs under a blanket purring her head off. Wilson has a silent purr.

OMG! Soooo so cute. Wilson is teaching needs everything he knows!

ladytremaineswig · 11/06/2020 22:33

Cats are wonderful. The easiest pets I think

Oldraver · 12/06/2020 09:09

We only had one accident (poo outside the tray) with Ernie in his second day, and I think only as he didn't like the wood pellets as he skidded on them.

As soon as he started to go out ( on a harness and lead at first) he headed straight for a bush and has rarely poo-Ed indoors since

And he is a seriously stupid cat

Fluffycloudland77 · 12/06/2020 10:36

I have a soft spot for Ernie. There was a cat on here nn Pickle pig who looked very intelligent but whose owner swore was not very bright.

Imcrapwithusernames · 12/06/2020 14:42

Just an update my little Bella is now purring! Yay
Also we lost her for an hour today and she turned up INSIDE the recliner sofa Shock still zero accidents and I am officially OBSESSED with her Grin

Bella is a beautiful name. I love cats, our bonkers girl cat ran up the curtains for years and probably only stopped when she was about age nine years.
When I got my first cat I, too was so impressed at how they automatically use a litter tray.
It was a real shock to me when I got my first ever puppy. She still expects a reward when she's been a good girl in the gardenGrin

CrouchingTraceyHiddenLadders · 12/06/2020 14:55

Hahaha at the first time dad expecting a baby to be easy like a kittenGrin

Oldraver · 12/06/2020 14:58

OH the recliner..DS has just bought one a few weeks after getting the cat

Cat has claimed the chair but also hides inside when he lets DS on it

crimsonlake · 12/06/2020 16:16

Bella is a lovely name and the same one as mine. My Bella also likes to hide inside the settee, she found a tiny tear when she was small...it is now a lot bigger, but it is her safe place.

Fluffycloudland77 · 12/06/2020 16:46

I lost ours in a rolled up duvet once, nearly rang dh in tears.

Serialcatmum · 12/06/2020 22:10
