My cat has cancer, when to PTS?

Just found out today that one of my cats has a cancerous tumour on his jaw, it's an aggressive type.
The only options were invasive, and quite possibly would make it worse, or cause him to suffer, it's highly unlikely he'd get better.
The Vet thinks it'll grow v quickly in the next month, and may get infected.
Right now he's a perfectly fine, well cat, has no idea anything is wrong with him.
I want to have him PTS in a couple of weeks so he goes off as a well cat, is this ok?
I mean I think it is, the vet is fine with it but I'm questioning myself.
I've never had to make this decision before.

Thank you, he's currently asleep on top of the kitchen cupboard, silly boy.
I'm just doing an online shop for tomorrow with lots of treats for him.

I've been following this thread off and on. Enjoy your last few days together. Make movies and photos of the fun times as it will be lovely for you to look back at them after he is gone.

He's sitting on my knee.

I'm afraid he doesn't really have anymore time, I'm taking him to the vets on Friday.
His mouth is dripping constantly and I think another day after that would be too late for my boy.

He was head bumping me earlier which was weird, he's never, ever done that before, he's starting to be not himself, not the Zazzles I know.
I really think it's time to let him go.

I’m so sorry, it sounds like you are making the right decision although I know that doesn’t make it any easier. I hope you can enjoy these last hours with Zazzles. He’s such a beautiful boy and I bet he has had a wonderful life with you.

I’m so sorry. But better to let him go when he is still mostly him than wait until he doesn’t even resemble your beloved cat.

He will let you know. I can honestly say that in my time as a pet owner and rescue worker and boarder (we had a few old dogs just left behind) I always knew when they had had enough.
My old lad left us 6 years ago and one day he just 'told' me he was done. He wasn't in pain but he had had enough. Huge love. It's really hard. Xxx

It’s the easiest thing to love them and the hardest to let them go. He is so adorable and you have some beautiful photos and memories to treasure forever x

What wonderful memories you’ve made with him, he’s had an amazing few weeks following what I’m sure has been a fantastic life.

I've changed the date to Monday, I think he'll be good to spend the weekend.
He's currently outside miaowing at the seagulls

A vet once reminded me that the pain and apprehension is only in you: he doesn’t feel any of that. I know it doesn’t make it hurt any less, but you are facing this so that he doesn’t have to suffer.
