My cat has cancer, when to PTS?

Just found out today that one of my cats has a cancerous tumour on his jaw, it's an aggressive type.
The only options were invasive, and quite possibly would make it worse, or cause him to suffer, it's highly unlikely he'd get better.
The Vet thinks it'll grow v quickly in the next month, and may get infected.
Right now he's a perfectly fine, well cat, has no idea anything is wrong with him.
I want to have him PTS in a couple of weeks so he goes off as a well cat, is this ok?
I mean I think it is, the vet is fine with it but I'm questioning myself.
I've never had to make this decision before.

I did get him to eat, and brushed him, but he really wasn't interested.
I think he's not very well now, and he's feeling it.

Oh, maybe yesterday was just an off day, as he's just shoved his sister out of the way to get to the food first!

Thank you, he's being v clingy with Dd today but then he's her cat and she's often out, a couple of times a week overnight so I think he clings when she's here.
It's a good thing as he'll eat for her and be all happy.

Omg, now he's being greedy cat, he tried to get at the rice salad I was making, I told him no, so Dd gave him some, he then had a yoghurt chicken Lick e lix thing, a big spoon of chicken and ham paste and Dd is feeding him an Asda Florentine cake.
He also just swiped Jemima on the nose for no apparent reason.

Oh I love him my cat used to go mad for chicken and rice she ate a huge bowl once that was meant for the BBQ she was hilarious,
Also stole a pork chop of my dads plate once at dinner time I love funny pets

He is literally living his best life

Our cat max was 6 when we had to pts. He had skin cancer. My vets were very negative about the whole thing so we asked for a second opinion as local vets said he had 2 weeks.
Had second opinion and they said we had caught the cancer early and they were able to operate. Surgery was very expensive £16,000) but he did really well and came home and led a relatively normal life for 15 months. Unfortunately (as we expected would happen) the cancer returned. He started hiding and became grumpy. We decided we had to do what was best for him and had him pts. It was horrific, and made worse by him purring when he was sat in my lap like he was saying thank you and knew what was coming. He went to sleep in my arms and I was devastated!! He went 2 years ago and I still miss him now but it has gotten better, nothing can prepare you for how you will feel after! Lots of love xx

He's fine today, having his cuddles and his treats and wandering in and out of the house.
You'd never know there was anything wrong with him.

Zazzles is still here, he is currently trying to have a turn on Dd's game thing that I'm too old to understand!
Apparently he can't as his paws are too big, and also, he's a cat!
He's taken to sleeping in Dd's bed, so she's around, he is slowing down, but he seems happy enough.
It's hard to accept he is ill and he won't be here for much longer

It these memories you will cherish. I’m sure cats can play games. And it’s not his fault the stupid game has buttons that are too small.

The updates are amazing. I'm so glad he's doing so well.

Flumpington is still being Flumpy.
He seems ok, but his mouth really smells, and he does drool a lot, poor boy.
He's still eating but definitely prefers the soft food now, he'll eat Dreamiescat crack but would rather have a spoon of paste.
One of my friends came to see him this week which meant a lot, she's hugely allergic to cats but knew it would be the last time, she came over when he was a tiny kitten too.
Another friend was here this evening and had cuddles with him.
He's so spoiled.

Oh he is a total babe. I’m so sorry @IHaveBrilloHair 😔 its so difficult to know when is the right time but as the others have said, better a day too soon... he sounds like he’s having a lovely, loved time at the moment though. Gorgeous cat.
