My boy has been killed

My gorgeous foofy boy Jasper was hit by a car this morning. I am very grateful to the dog walker who phoned me at 9:30 to tell me where he was, he was only a 10 second dash from our house. He must have been on his way home for his biscuits.

We are devastated.

What horrible news, I’m heart broken for you. We lost our cat just after Christmas and I know how devastating it is. They really are part of the family.

hugs and thoughts are with you. Take comfort from the thought that he probably didn’t suffer, and that you were able to give him a lovely life.

I'm so, so sorry OP. What a tragedy.

I know it's no consolation to you right now but just from that picture alone I would say he looks like he had a very happy and comfortable life.

I miss his foofy little face so much already. He was so cute. Sorry to those who of you who have also lost little fur balls.

im so sorry for your loss. My cat was killed by a car recently too. Its devastating, but I still think its beautiful that he was allowed to be himself, go out exploring and doing cat things.

I’m so sorry OP. Our little dude was knocked over last May, two days after DD2 was born. He’d made it back to the porch where I found him. Thinking of you.

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....
