Awaiting blood results for kidney function. As she's still loosing weight and isn't her usual self. Should get them later today. If her kidneys are failing then I think the kindest thing will be to PTS. In view of her heart I don't want to 'try and manage it' it wouldn't be fair. For the last couple of days she's still interested in things but is not my bossy little diva cat and isn't eating much.

Another lurking fan of your two girls here. I am so sorry. It's so hard to let them go. Fatty was loved and looked after and had a good life with you. That's what you need to hold on to; you did the best you could for her.

Toddlerteaplease · 08/08/2018 20:34

I know. She had a great life with me. It's really sinking in that she's not here.😥

Would you mind if I made a donation to the rescue in her memory? It won’t be a lot but I’d like to do something. If it’s ok can you let me know the name of the rescue - I think I can remember but want to get it right.

Toddlerteaplease · 08/08/2018 20:42

Omg that is so, so lovely of you. It's St Francis Persian Rescue. You've just made me cry!

The first few days are hard. Plus a cat requiring so much attention with medication you have quite a fixed routine. I hope Snorg is providing some comfort.
Good someone can make use of the medication. Our vet passed insulin on to a another client after we lost Vinocat; seemed such a waste to just bin it all.

cheesefield · 08/08/2018 20:58

You're a good lady Toddler. She was a lucky cat.

Give Snorg a fuss from the litter tray.

Toddlerteaplease · 08/08/2018 20:59

Yes. I'm watching TV and she'd be sitting on my knee or cushion with my arm round her. Snorg keeps coming to check I'm still here but mainly sits on her tree. She's affectionate but less cuddly. Though hopefully that might change.

Must be a strange time for Snorg, bless her. Sounds like she's checking you're ok.

What will you do with the lovely picture of them from the cattery? Will it have pride of place in the house somewhere?

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 08/08/2018 21:16

Thanks for that, it's done.

Snorg sounds like Harry. He likes to know where we are and that we are OK but won't actually sit on our laps. I was upset at lunchtime and he actually let me cuddle him so I made the most of it!

Ski37 · 08/08/2018 21:33

Thinking of you and Snorg. Fatty couldn’t have had a better owner (slave? ) and you’ve done her proud. Xxx

Toddlerteaplease · 08/08/2018 21:42

@cheesefield it was in a frame on the wall within five minutes of getting home with them!

Lovely. How kind of the cattery. Will you be in touch with them at some point?

It's a bastard fact of life that cats don't live as long as humans. Especially considering their company is far preferable to that of many humans.

Justonedayatatime11 · 08/08/2018 22:03

Oh toddler I'm so sorry to read this. It's so bloody hard, I hope you're as ok as you can be Thanks

Toddlerteaplease · 08/08/2018 22:22

@cheesefield, I phoned them earlier as the artist had fallen in love with them. When I collected them two weeks ago, we both went into the pen together and Fatty wanted her and not me. Which I thought was lovely. She told me some great stories about how Fatty had been bossing poor Snorg around. Grin

Aw I'm so sorry for your loss. I miss my darling boy we lost to kidney failure two years ago. He was a very fine cat. It's a hard decision but a brave one and you were there for Fatty the whole way along.

Much love to you and yours.

Olinguito · 08/08/2018 23:57

So very sorry to hear this, Toddler. You gave Fatty a lovely life. Love to you and Snorg. Flowers

Just took her pills back to the cardiologist and turned into a blubbering mess. Glad they will be used for someone who can't afford them.

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 09/08/2018 11:17

Oh bless you, I'm not surprised, I would have been the same. I'm glad her meds are going to help someone who might not be able to afford treatment otherwise, I think that's a lovely idea.

Snorg was obviously checking you were OK during the night. Think yourself lucky it's because she cares. Harry only comes in during the night to tell me he's used his litter tray and it needs emptying!

Toddlerteaplease · 09/08/2018 12:45

To be fair. Fatty was so dominant she had to make her presence known!

OP posts:
Toddlerteaplease · 09/08/2018 12:46

And do you empty it when commanded?!

OP posts:
PinkSparklyPussyCat · 09/08/2018 14:21

Of course! I try to ignore him but he won't leave me alone until it's done. Of course I try and let DH get there first!

YetAnotherSpartacus · 09/08/2018 14:28

Keep taking care Toddler Flowers. Snuggles to Snorg. Look after yourselves.
