Cat's not right

We have an appointment in one hour. I've had her for 10 years and she's never been ill before.

Appointment was booked anyway but today she pooed in her tail whilst curled up and there wasn't anything I could do apart from clean up the the surroundings then gently try to clean her tail with baby shampoo. She was very passive and let me do it.

Anyway vets soon.

Good luck. Hope it's something easy to fix.

Topseyt · 28/06/2018 15:35

Does she seem able to move at all otherwise? Has she got up, walked around, etc. today or not.

This happened to my cat too once he was old and creaky. It turned out that he no longer had feeling (or not much) in the lower half of his body.

I hope it isn't anything like that, and isn't serious. Good luck when you see the vet. Fingers crossed for you.

She has to be put down - I cried too much and freaked out at the needle today and ran in the way so it will have to be done tomorrow

I'm so sorry, she sounds a very much loved pet, it's such an awful decision to have to make especially when it's unexpected. Sending you both hugs,Flowers

Want2beme · 28/06/2018 17:53

What happened Languid? So sorry to hear this. It's an awful thing to happen. Thinking of you and poor DcatFlowers

Vinorosso74 · 28/06/2018 18:03

Oh no, I'm so sorry. Poor puss and you Flowers

rupertpenryswife · 28/06/2018 18:11

Oh I am also sorry I can understand your reaction. Poor puss.

bellinisurge · 28/06/2018 18:39

Oh poor all of you. I'm so sorry. This is one of those times when it's really horrible being a grown up and making those decisions. You are doing one last act of kindness. Which just sounds like words just now. I really know what you are going through as do others on here. Thanks

LanguidLobster · 28/06/2018 19:56

For last supper she has wild salmon, I'll take her around the park, snuggle up with her all tonight on sitting room floor then chicken in the morning, park again, then goodbye.

Sorry this sounds a bit Celine Dion, I'll miss her so much but don't want her in pain

I’m so sorry. Is this the one that got lost the other day?

LanguidLobster · 28/06/2018 20:04

Yes I think you had little emperor?

I'll cry floods TBH but at least I have over 12 hours with her and can say goodbye properly. As much as you ever can. Oh I'll miss her

lcc7 · 28/06/2018 21:19

So so sorry Flowers . What happened??

Topseyt · 28/06/2018 21:28

I am so sorry. Similar happened to my cat and I had to have him put to sleep 6 months ago (Christmas morning).

It is so hard. I know that. Offering you a hand hold and some Flowers

Papergirl1968 · 28/06/2018 21:29

Yes, when I was a teenager we had Siamese - including the one who demanded to be lowered off the shed roof by stepping into a washing up bowl held up by the slaves.
It breaks your heart when the time comes to say goodbye to a beloved companion. My dd’s puppy recently got run over and didn’t survive. I sent her the Rainbow Bridge poem and another called I Stood By Your Bed. Google them when you feel up to it - they may bring you comfort in the weeks ahead.
Be kind to yourself and wishing you strength for tomorrow

Thinking of you OK Flowers

LanguidLobster · 28/06/2018 22:25

She's gone now, vet gave her little body to me and she's on my lap (albeit still). I guess that is the last I will go into the litter tray.

She was incurable I feel so guilty she died at 14

lastnightidreamtofpotatoes · 28/06/2018 22:28

No need to feel guilty OP, you loved her deadly and I can imagine she had a great life with you.

Papergirl1968 · 28/06/2018 22:29

Thinking of you x
