So I went to the adoption centre

Theoretically to look at the second hand cat carriers they had for sale. And by some witchcraft I now have a third cat.

She is a 12year old long haired love machine who has had to have ear surgery which makes her look like Dobby the house elf. Her name is Sasha and I pick her up tomorrow!

Naturally I am banned from returning to the adoption centre unsupervised by my OH ever again.

What an unusual looking cat! Congratulations on your new adoptee!

Orangebird69 · 02/09/2017 11:34

😍. Congrats!

Floralnomad · 02/09/2017 11:35

She's got a gorgeous coat lucky you , did you buy a cat carrier from them to get her home in ?

Botanicbaby · 02/09/2017 11:46

She is just beautiful, glad she has been rehomed, it is always heart-warming to see that the 'older' ones get picked too!

but yes I can see why unsupervised visits to the adoption centre are now banned Grin

DefinitelyOdd · 02/09/2017 11:54

To be fair I am a bit nervous of her coat as the only other long haired cat I had was a vicious bugger when it came to grooming.

I only went to look at her because some other people just glanced at her cage, saw her age and medical history and dismissed her. She had got all excited and come to the front to see them......and the rest you already know!

My long haired cat bites me when I groom him. He has quite matted fur as a result Blush

ladyballs · 02/09/2017 12:07

Beautiful!

This is my adoptee Poppy who's nearly 19 and had ear surgery too.

So I went to the adoption centre
ChiefClerkDrumknott · 02/09/2017 12:17

She's lovely, how could you resist when she came to the front of the cage only to be disappointed? Ovs you couldn't let that happen Wink

Alittlepotofrosie · 02/09/2017 12:19

Ah how sweet!

NomDePlumeReloaded · 02/09/2017 12:20

Grin she is ace

tinytemper66 · 02/09/2017 12:40

We have a new kitten and a ten year old. Both tortoiseshell. Needless to say the older cat is not amused at the interloper. Someone we knew needed to find her a home after their car unexpectedly had kittens. Hopefully they will be friends soon. The kitten (Stella) just wants Amber to play. Only hisses and no fur flying so far after 6 days!

So I went to the adoption centre

She's gorgeous. We did the same when my sister volunteered for the RSPCA. She wanted to show us some Persian kittens. (We weren't going to adopt one) She pointed out a cat no one wanted because she sneezed a lot. Opened the door and she climbed straight on my dad's shoulder. We were smitten!

NomDePlumeReloaded · 02/09/2017 12:44

Awww Smile more beautiful babies.

We've decided we're going to add a rescue kitten to our feline family in the next few months. We lost our eldest boy at 21 last year and we feel ready.

Fluffycloudland77 · 02/09/2017 12:46

This is why we'd never visit. I'd end up with dozens of rescues & one monumentally pissed off Bengal.

I'd have taken her too after seeing someone dismiss her so easily.

IHaveBrilloHair · 02/09/2017 12:46

Oh what a beautiful cat.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 02/09/2017 12:46

Awww she looks like a sheep! Lovely news, congratulations!!😺

YesItsMeIDontCare · 02/09/2017 12:50

So that poor little puss cat was excited at the vague possibility of having her own people... only to be heartbroken as people walked past without a second glance... so an angel (disguised as OP) came along and showed her love and affection and now she's got a loving home with aforementioned angel...?

Oh. I appear to have something in my eye.

-sniffs-

DefinitelyOdd · 02/09/2017 12:50

My OH was smitten when I sent him the picture. And when I told him the story of the other people he just snorted and told me to go for it. Because 'she might only have 6 to 8 years left but she will have a bloody good time of it with us!'

He doesn't really like cats but enables my addiction....

I reckon that adoption centres need to work out who are the softies (like me) and then recreate that situation over and over again! The 'difficult' to home cats would be gone in seconds!

viques · 02/09/2017 12:55

Wow OP, that is some fluffy coat. Have you got a furminator brush, was the only thing that coped with the late charlottes fluffiness, though she was very ticklish around her back legs (as are we all....)

ThePlatypusAlwaysTriumphs · 02/09/2017 12:59

She's lovely!!!! I love her ears! I'm always falling for wonky animals, they're the best!

sillyswimmer · 02/09/2017 13:23

She's gorgeous!

I did something similar, popped into the rehoming centre and ended up with the first cat I saw. My excuse was that every time we were near her pen she came out of her bed and meowed at us, which she wasn't doing with anyone else. She chose us Grin

YetAnotherSpartacus · 02/09/2017 14:05

She's gorgeous ... Reminds me of a Herdwick lamb.
