So I went to the adoption centre

Theoretically to look at the second hand cat carriers they had for sale. And by some witchcraft I now have a third cat.

She is a 12year old long haired love machine who has had to have ear surgery which makes her look like Dobby the house elf. Her name is Sasha and I pick her up tomorrow!

Naturally I am banned from returning to the adoption centre unsupervised by my OH ever again.

Please don't purchase a furminitor they don't distinguish between healthy and shedding fur really. It's really damaging to coats.

I went to the rescue with every intention of getting a pair of elderly cats that I could spoil rotten give a good retirement to. I know how much harder it is for older cats to be rehomed, especially if there's a pair that need to be together.

In the end I was claimed by a pair of comparative youngsters - they HAD been at the rescue overlooked for a year though, and Girlcat didn't really give me any choice in the matter.

My tv isn't upside down. You can see the base on top of the travelling trunk.

And yeah, its going well. A few growls from the girl cat but nothing too horrific yet.

She's lovely and sounds like she's settling in very well Grin

The reddish tint to her fur might be due to a tyrosine deficiency (commonly seen in black cats) - a good diet will sort it out pretty quickly if so.

Yeah she is a very big girl. My other two are short hairs so I think this makes her look even bigger!

She is settling in well. She tends to mosey about and has to be exactly where the humans are! I think we need a bigger bed as it was a bit of a squeeze last night!

Gerund - how will I know if it is a deficiency? She is on a 'light' diet from the centre but I want to start her on wet food ASAP. Would wet food help?

These are our new rescue kittens from this week and also our old girl. She's now 15 and was 13 when we got her and nobody else wanted her because of the age.
