Is four too many cats?

Ok I'm the worst fosterer ever. There's no way I can give up the little stray that I've been rearing I think once you've wiped somethings bum to make it wee then you have a bond.
But I've also fallen in love with another of the kittens who is just the sweetest little thing, so cuddly and affectionate with the softest fur, I lurve her and I need to keep her.

That will mean I have four cats, that's an acceptable number right??

Nope, we have had five........it was fine.
I want those kittens, they are so gorgeous and scrumptious x

Madeyemoodysmum · 29/06/2017 23:42

Never.

littlewoollypervert · 29/06/2017 23:43

Toebeans!

Longdistance · 29/06/2017 23:43

If you can smuggle one in my direction, I'd be very grateful Grin

littlewoollypervert · 29/06/2017 23:43

(Pic one...aww!)

JazzTheDog · 29/06/2017 23:44

We have 4 - its a good number!

Limer · 29/06/2017 23:44

Too many would be forty. Or possibly fourteen. Four is not too many! They are so beautiful!

Orangebird69 · 29/06/2017 23:45

I had 11 indoor cats at one point. It's gard work but worth it. Now settled at 5 (for now). Wouldn't change them for the world. Do it!!!!

SentientCushion · 29/06/2017 23:54

We have 9 at the moment as we are fostering 7 but I just can't let these little ones go.
In an ideal world I'd keep the Mam too but I think she'll be harder to introduce to our current reigning overlords.

My dh is besotted with the little black one, he's always wanted a slinky black cat which is what we thought we were getting when we got our black boy cat, however now he's full sized the word 'slinky' could never be used to describe him, 'gargantuan' maybe, 'big lad' possibly but mostly just 'huge'. The only time he slinks now is past you to go and lick the pans in the sink.

Omg he is stunning
And i love toe beans too

Allergictoironing · 30/06/2017 07:35

Oh my he IS a big handsome lad - but then I'm a complete sucker for a big black cat.

Hoppinggreen · 30/06/2017 07:38

4 was the tipping point for me.
We had 3 when a gorgeous big all white boy decided that we should be honoured with his presence and I didn't think one more would make a difference but it was a bit much to be honest ( plus he bullied my girls)
He went to live with the in laws and was spoilt rotten by fil ( who doesn't like cats - honest) for 5 years until he died
However, I would struggle to resist a lovely little black kitten

Toddlerteaplease · 30/06/2017 09:57

He looks like he's about to murder your husband because he thinks he's not slinky. As long as you have enough windowsills it'll be fine.

starfish4 · 30/06/2017 10:05

I grew up with four cats - the purrfect number!

SentientCushion · 30/06/2017 10:07

Ha! He always makes this face, he has a fluffy cushion that we call the 'mother cushion' because he posses and sucks on it while staring at you very intensely, like a creep.

If you want 4, have 4. I've got 3 and see so many that need homes, but I can't have anymore, sadly.

Floofborksnootandboop · 30/06/2017 10:21

You can never have too many cats Grin

thegreylady · 30/06/2017 10:39

I have 3 and would love more but we live by a railway in a bungalow so all indoor cats. Those kittens are irresistible.

I had 5 for some years, not by design, I just acquired them. We managed fine with them. I only have one now, a small black and white female, but I would love an all-black cat.

Want2beme · 30/06/2017 11:10

thegreylady lovely pusses. Where's their fab chaisecatlongue from? It's brill.

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 30/06/2017 12:40

We have three at present but used to have four. I think four is better because whenever we've had three they have ended up being two best friends and one outsider.
The only problem with four is fighting for lap space...

SentientCushion · 30/06/2017 13:00

Aw thanks everyone, this has made me feel much better!

I have five.

They're necessary to my wellbeing.

stumblymonkeyagain · 30/06/2017 13:33

Four cats here. My perfect number of cats!

I was also a failed fosterer with the last two...my little grey panthers who we raised from birth and are now 11 months old.
