Fattycat has fractured/ dislocated her jaw again.

Just beginning to relax about Fattycat's jaw after almost a month with no problems. Came back from the Easter vigil to find her with her mouth open again. Took her straight to the veterinary hospital that treated Snorg. They are going to x Ray her and if it's dislocated wire her jaw if it's fractured fix it. She needs to have it permanently fixed. This can't keep happening. Supposed to be going away overnight tomorrow.

It is fractured. But they've reduced the fracture. The vet doesn't want to wire her jaw because of the shape of her face. So back on soft food for 4 weeks again. It was a nightmare last time so have ordered some microchip feeders at vast expense to take some of the stress away. Looks like my night away is not happening as she can come home in the morning. Don't feel I can go and leave her. Might see if they can hang on to her till evening and go for the day instead.

I'm sorry for you and Fattycat and for your lost weekend. I hope the vet can fix the problem permanently.

As you're a frequent vet customer, will they give you a discount? I've been a customer with my vet for over 20 years and when I had a mog with FIV who had to see them every six weeks they gave me reduction in the fee.

I'm not bothered about the feed. She's fully insured.

I wouldn't leave her alone either with that injury. I don't think you'd enjoy yourself anyway if she was home alone.

Last time she did it I had to leave her to go to something she had her head in some cat pate within five minutes of getting in the house and was back to her normal self. Hotel cancelled. Wondering wether to pop up for a couple of hours if she's ok as the cat sitter is still booked for today. But will play it by ear. She was underfoot while I was getting dressed yesterday and I think I might have caught her head when I swung my legs onto the beds. So feel really guilty about that. But it was an accident. The vet said that there is lots of healing bone visible on the c Ray from last time. Which is good

Oh poor Fattycat and poor you. I know it's easier said than done (and I could do with taking my own advice) but don't feel guilty, it's so easy to catch them when they are underfoot. It's good news about the healing bone, unfortunately Harry's jaw has never healed properly and probably won't.

The vet wants to refer her to a place in Birmingham to let an orthopaedic surgeon take a look and see if it needs a plate.

Flipping heck. At least it would stop it happening again.

Oh Toddler how disappointing - for her and for you. Always when you have something to look forward to as well. I hope she copes with the food a bit better this time.

And don't feel guilty - how many times have any of us caught them when they are underfoot - it can happen daily here, and nothing happens - so she could have done it running about or grooming if there's such a weakness there.

She seems fine. Has tried to bite me for grooming her and has demolished some pate and sat licking her lips.

Poor Fatty. It is starting to sound a bit like a conspiracy to stop you ever going away! She doesn't sound too distressed though, which is good.

No she seems ok. I decided to pop up to Liverpool as I need a hug from my best friend. the roads are quiet and I've left my cat cam on and am watching her. Her cat sitter has been pre warned and is going to check on her later on. If I thought she want ok, I'd never have left her. The vet is going to speak to the referrral centre on Tuesday, but can I ring them and request an appointment anyway. As I'm working all day Wednesday so want to get her seen in Tuesday. Very touched that all the staff at the vet remembered Snorg. Apparently she was famous. Because she's a sweetie and because she survived against the odds.

Ours ended up at the emergency vet this morning . DP called just as I got to my CP shift to say she'd been sick, done a runny poo and was struggling to pee and was passing blood.
Vet gave her antibiotic injection and is treating her for cystitis/infection. Need to call our vet Tuesday for blood, I think she'll be a bit upset as she's quite invested in our cat. Vinocat seems brighter and has eaten boiled turkey breast and done a small blood free pee. So skinny tho 2.5kg.

How's she doing today?

She seems absolutely fine. Slept most of the night next to me and grooming her self vigorously. Bit worried about giving loxicom as it makes her sick. Neither of them are eating much of the wet food, but the feeders have arrived so can at least get Snorg back on normal diet. If I can teach them how to use it. Will get some different food. Gave a bagful away to a friend last week. Think I was tempting fate! Very sad to be missing out on my plans this morning but glad I risked it went to see my friend yesterday. Insurance company are happy for her to be referred to the centre in Birmingham. Although there is one much closer the vet said Birmingham are better.

Yes they do. Really not sure wether to take her to The place that the vet recommended in Birmingham or the one much closer that she said was ok but she'd go to Birmingham. Fatty gets very stressed at the vet but is a fairly good traveller. Birmingham is easily so able but might be difficult when I'm back at work. The other would be logistically easier.

I am gobsmacked, this is the first time she has ever showed any interest in a box.
